Description:
1972 International Harvester Scout
International Harvester Scout II . We bought this Scout from the Greeley, Colorado area in it's stock unmodified condition. It was owned by a Ford engineer and used sparingly. The body had one repaint in the stock blue color. The Scout was in unbelievably great shape and unmolested. Even the original hubcaps appear to have been wrapped up and stored for 50 years. lol We took the body down to bare metal, fixed the small rust areas at the rear wheel wells and replaced the side rockers in their entirety. We also had to replace the front cab body mount metal wedges. The floors are original and VERY nice. There was one small rust area on the driver side by the dimmer switch that now has new .125 steel. We then sound matted the floors up front and installed new blue carpet. We upholstered the original seating with blue denim for comfort in the inserts keeping the original vinyl surrounds. The dash metal and under the dash look brand new without the slightest surface rust or discoloration. There is a blotch where the previous owner had manual navigation(compass) mounted but not necessitating a repaint of the dash at all. The dash PAD is cracked but original. We are currently trying to find a good one in blue but will have a good dash pad on it before shipping it out. We are also trying to locate a stock windshield wiper reservoir and that's it. The paint is Wanda base and USC 7500/7515 Euro Glamor clear with three base and two heavy clear. The Scout has been cut with 1500 and buffed as shown. We have 1/4 gallon base and two touch up rattle cans to send with the Scout for the future. When we replaced the hoses and belts we replaced ORIGINAL stuff. WOW . The Scout had a very easy life so far. Steers great, brakes great, has a minute rear main leak sporadically and may have quit entirely since we torqued the pan down a bit. The dual exhaust is replacement exhaust and the 2 1/2" lift /shocks are all that is NOT stock underneath and the floors and sheet metal look awesome. These are particularly hard to find good parts for with out going aftermarket but there was no need as the interio, the glass, and the door jambs inside are REALLY NICE. Only the rear hatch glass has slight scratches. The rest is beautiful with little to no pitting on any chrome. We always seem to like a winch with synthetic rope on our 4X4 rigs. This is no exception. We installed a 13k winch with a remote wireless controller and a 15 ' manual controller with light grey synthetic rope. The front bumper is custom fabbed for the Scout. We've only done 4 Scout II's but this is the most stock and nicest one yet. After over a hundred broncos we're looking to a change up in the hobby. lol All in all a very fine example of a 72 Scout II. The gauges, lights, original radio, and electrics all work as designed. It's not a time capsule Binder but it IS very nice! There are no warranties expressed or implied. It "is what it is" and nothing more. We have tried to describe it as if we were looking at it to buy for ourselves. The pic of the door jamb tag gives you the info on the Scout II. We can be reached at em2bad@ gmail if you require additional answers to questions or want to set up an inspection. Inspections are recommended as we like to have potential buyers fee, touch, and drive their purchase before committing to buy.Vehicle Details:
