Description:

1966 International Harvester Travelall

This California truck was delivered from IH to Los Angeles/High Desert and stayed there until recently.

Original 304 V8 Engine runs smooth (newly rebuilt carb). Very light oil drip (probably comes from valve covers). It shifts and brakes well.

Engine runs on new electric fuel pump and gas bottle-I don’t have time to drop and rinse both gas tanks.

Odometer reads 33,321 so I assume it has $133,321 miles on it (timing order stickers are still on the valve covers).

I have the Title. Truck is out of DMV system.

Copy of Line Set Ticket will be included with sale.

New battery.

Trailer brakes and rear trailer hitch set-up.

Dual fuel tanks (they are in excellent shape but should be rinsed out).

Floor Pans are in good shape. There is a nickel to quarter-size hole in the floor pan near gas pedal (heel area) but other than that, surface rust/scale. I looked underneath and the black undercoating is like new but for this one spot where the heel went through rubber mat and then the floor pan-See Pic.

A good indicator of rust on these trucks is the condition of the outer and inner light housings. With the rear brake light lenses removed, you can see the housings are in excellent shape w/no blemishes in original coating-See Pic.

Original front, mid and rear floor mats are in fair to good shape.

Padded Dash is cracked. Dash panel and gauges are in very good shape. Chrome gauge bezels are excellent. Cardboard glovebox is excellent.

Parking brake and brake-on indicator light both work.

Front seat is in fair shape (vinyl is a little dry). Mid seat is in useable. No third row seat but it has the setup for it.

Headliner is in very good shape. One headliner section needs to be put back into the cross member.

Original towing mirrors with “IH” stamp are in very good shape.

Brand new windshield and seal (seal from Precision Seals) were installed. The windshield frame showed zero rust with glass out-See Pic. All other glass is in excellent shape. The windows behind the front seat windows have been tinted and there are just a few very small blemishes in the film.

All side doors open and shut solid and true. One of the barn doors is not latching properly and needs some alignment but it is not bad. Rollup windows operate smoothly but could work even better with a little grease.

Original color is “Omaha Orange”. Truck was re-sprayed blue then copper metallic. Roof paint is very good. Lower body paint condition is fair to good. In my opinion, a few spot repairs and a wax job will extend current paint life 3 to 5 years.

There are a couple rust-through spots along the trailing edge of the outside rear wheel fenders that will need a little patchwork but not bad-See Pic. Rust in this area is common with these trucks. There is some cracking body filler on right rear barn door and on both rear quarter panels near brake light level– See Pic. Not sure about thickness of body filler in the lower areas. Previous owner cut out a drain hole about3 Nickels side by side on driver side lower rear quarter panel so will need a patch - See Pic.

Tires hold air but are rollers only. The next owner can make the tire decision.

Original Rims are in very good shape. Original spare rim will be included in sale.

Front bumper has a few dings. Back bumper has very minimal dings-could use painting or chrome.

I have owned many International over the past 30+ years. It is nearly impossible to cover everything positive and negative in an ad but I try to give an educated, detailed and honest description when I sell them.

This Travelall is not perfect but it is very clean, intact and dry for 50 years old. Three-quarter-ton Travelalls of this era, with rear barn doors, are rare these days - especially this solid. There are few items to address to make this Travelall a daily driver/high profile business delivery truck (company logo etc. on large rear side windows). With little in the way of metalwork and needed parts, plus increasing value, this Travelall can easily be used for a few years and then undergo a straight forward restoration.

I will cooperate with your arranged shipping method when payment is made in full. Immediate deposit of $750 is required within 2 days of auction close. This is an as-is and where is sale. No warranty expressed written or implied.

Thanks for looking. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
