This car is an amazing find. Its a 1979 Honda Civic with an ELF/MANX body kit intstalled, kit was installed by the dealer when it was new back in 1979 this car has always looked like this since new. Car has been off the road for 25 years and has 5000 ORIGINAL MILES, YES I REPEAT 5000 ORIGINAL MILES!!!!!!!!!! . It has spent the majority of life in storage and has hardly been driven. The seats look like they've just come off the assembly line and the fabric and vinyl look new. The gas pedal looks like it just came out of a box, the original tires are 35 years old, dry rotted and have no wear. The rims look like new, the car has never been painted since the kit was done back in 1979, the front bumper thats usually full of chips look like it was just painted yet it hasn't. There is NO RUST on the car other than some surface rust on the floors, a quick sanding and they will look factory again...or just leave them because they need no work..RARE 5 SPEED CAR! MOST WERE 4 SPEEDS. This car is probably the bestsurvivorof its kind in the world but it does need some work...all related to long term storage. The gas tank will need to be cleaned or replaced and the carb will need to be redone. It starts and runs fine but will need and overhaul from sitting so long tires hold air but new ones are needed. Body is amazing shape but has some little dings from storage and a couple rub marks from being tarped...i think it was stored inside. The brakes pedal is nice and high and the brakes work great (e brake too) but should be checked. Basicly it needs a once over from long term storage to check all of its systems a saftey check and then back on the road. It needs a weekend and about $800.00 spent on it including tires. It has 3 body styles that it converts to; Full convertible, Targa, or put the roof on, either way it looks great. The car has no side windows...I will make sure its sealed with plastic for the trip to ????? for the new owner. I have 3 cars on the go right now and cannot stay married and play with this one too so its sadly got to go. The new owner will be very happy with this super neat car.

This car is one of 20 that were built by Waterloo Honda back in 1979. What sets this one apart is that it doesn't have the Civic engine. This is the only one that was upgraded with the Prelude engine making a true one of a kind. You will never see another one like this, this is a rare survior car with probably the lowest mileage of any on the planet. Yes folks 5000 ORIGINAL MILES, its doesn't have the extradigit on the odometer so I do have to sell it mileage unknown but 5000 is strongly thought to be correct,,,its sure not 105000.. Its not a KIT CAR either although it may seem like it, its a Honda Civic with a body kit so you can actually find parts for it, its veryderivableand reliable unlike true kit cars where you start from scratch. There is an automotive writer who has written an article on this car, google 1979 Honda Formuling (its just a Civic with a body kit. The dealer stuck a "Formuling" decal on the dash and thats what its been called its whole life.
This car has unreal potential; old school tuner car, restore to new, drive as is, upset all the muscle car owners at the car shows when your car gets all the attention, do some modern upgrades and make it a performance car,put it in Honda dealers show room as a conversations piece, if your a collector of rare and intersting cars its a must have for any collection.
