Description:

1955 GMC 250

HERE IS A VERY LOW MILEAGE 1955 FIRST SERIES GMC ONE-TON PANEL TRUCK. I HAVE OWNED IT SINCE 1987 AND IT WAS ORIGINALLY A FIRE COMPANY VEHICLE. THIS HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN ABOUT 3000 MILES DURING THE MORE THAN 30 YEARS THAT I HAVE HAD IT.
THE TRUCK WAS ORIGINALLY WHITE IN COLOR. IT RECENTLY EMERGED FROM A FRIEND'S BODY SHOP IN A 1998 DODGE TRUCK RED. THERE WAS NO RUST-THRU ON THE TRUCK EXCEPT FOR SOME VERY SMALL PIN-HOLE SPOTS VISIBLE WHEN THE FENDERS WERE REMOVED. THOSE SPOTS WERE IN THE AREA WHERE FENDER WELT JOINED THE FENDERS TO THE BODY AND WERE BRAZED SHUT. THERE ALSO WERE A COUPLE OF MINOR DENTS IN THE BODY WHICH HAVE BEEN CORRECTED.
THE ENGINE IS THE ORIGINAL 248 CUBIC INCH GMC INLINE SIX AND THE TRANSMISSION IS A FOUR-SPEED MANUAL ON THE FLOOR. TIRES ARE HEAVY DUTY TUBE- TYPE 17 INCH ON THE CORRECT SPLIT RIMS. THESE TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 100 MILES ON THEM THOUGH THEY ARE ABOUT 10 YEARS OLD. THE GRILLE AND BUMPERS ON THIS UNIT WERE PAINTED AND WERE CHROMED AS PART OF THE REFINISHING OPERATION. TWO OF THE ORIGINAL PAINTED HUBCAPS SOMEHOW DISAPPEARED WHILE THE TRUCK WAS IN THE BODY SHOP. A PAIR OF CHROMED MIRROR ARMS AND ROUND MIRRORS WILL BE INCLUDED IN THIS SALE.
A LOCAL MECHANIC SHOP DRAINED THE FUEL TANK RECENTLY, BLEW OUT THE FUEL LINES AND CHANGED THE ENGINE OIL. THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND THE WHEEL CYLINDERS WERE ALSO BLED. THE TRUCK STARTS EASILY, RUNS WELL AND SHIFTS AND STOPS AS IT SHOULD. A NEW 6-VOLT BATTERY IS IN PLACE. THE WIPERS NEED TO BE REINSTALLED. YOU WILL NOTE SOME WIRES HANGING DOWN FROM THE DASH IN A FEW OF THE PHOTOS. IT NEEDS SOME TIDYING UP IN THE AREA OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND PERHAPS A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF REWIRING. THE HEADLIGHTS, BRAKE LIGHTS, STOP LIGHTS AND TURN SIGNALS ARE NOT CURRENTLY WORKING.
THIS PANEL TRUCK MAY BE SEEN BY APPOINTMENT IN RANSOMVILLE, NEW YORK. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION FROM THE FIRE COMPANY CONCERNING THE MILEAGE WHEN I PURCHASED THE TRUCK AND WOULD BE CAPABLE OF PROVIDING A CERTIFICATION OF CURRENT ACCUMULATED MILEAGE TO THE PURCHASER. MY PENNSYLVANIA TITLE, ISSUED IN 1990, INDICATES THAT THE ODOMETER READING IS EXEMPT FROM DISCLOSURE.
I AM GENERALLY FAMILIAR WITH REQUIREMENTS FOR EXPORTING A VEHICLE FROM THE US. TRANSPORTATION TO THE PORT OF EXPORT AND ANY BROKERAGE CHARGES WOULD BE THE RESPSONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER.
THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS LISTING.
