The Roadster The 1932 Ford Roadster’s timeless design and rarity make it a highly coveted gem. The Roadster is a statement of appreciation for America, its ingenuity, automotive heritage, and craftsmanship thereby capturing the imagination of many young men including rebellious, hot rod enthusiasts like our father. This is a real piece of history, not a replica that looks like one. Full of youthful exuberance and timeless legend; it’s old school folklore, illegal drag racing down cityline roads at night with hot chicks, cold beer, and bragging rights. This Roadster was the epitome of our father’s daydreams which he coveted since the 1950’s after he spotted it sitting on blocks in the yard of a neighbor. He walked by it everyday on his way to the plant. Back then it was only a body, frame, engine, and transmission. He worked hard for it and it’s been his ever since. Later, he tried to track down its previous owner to find more provenance, but to no avail. During our childhood the Roadster was always a fixture in the background of our lives. It was in our grandmother’s garage. Then it was gray primed, covered with a tarp on the farm, and finally in his own garage where he started to gather the necessary manuals, tools, and old rusted parts that looked like junk to the untrained eye. He took road trips to swap meets along the east coast. Every detail was planned. He endured setbacks and obstacles that he worked through with countless discussions with other hot rod enthusiasts. His garage was filled with Roadster paraphernalia; the walls were filled with historic photographs, pages torn from magazines, hot chick calendars, and diagrams where it all came together. You could see his passion slowly taking form over the years. Pops had a vision of an old-school 1950’s-style build right down to the much sought after vintage plates. In 2005 on one of his first outings with the Roadster, Pops won Best Hot Rod in his class at The Olcott Auto Show in New York. He trailored it to a few other out of state events, in Detroit Michigan at the Flathead Show and the Connecticut Rat Rod Show, . He preferred hands-on mechanics and doing things his own way, the right way. The original Ford steel body includes a channeled frame, split wishbone front-end suspension, and radius chrome steering rods with vintage bias ply tires. It features a louvered trunk lid, stainless steel floor and battery box, which is located inside of the trunk. At the heart of this vintage beauty sits a powerhouse that ensures an exhilarating driving experience, making every journey an adventure. The Flathead was painstakingly rebuilt with a three deuce setup, Offenhauser heads, Edelbrock aluminum valve covers, electronic fuel-injection and ignition, stainless steel straight pipes, coupled with the original transmission using Mercury Zephyr Gears. Its laborious simplicity is the key element to this classic. The Roadster has room for two passengers and a canvas convertible top which adds an extra layer of protection for you and your sweetheart. Inside the cab you’ll find red leather upholstery wrapped around the cabin and bench seat for a timeless look. This 1932 Ford Roadster is a rare and exceptional opportunity to own a piece of old school automotive history. This is the real thing. They just aren't built this way anymore. With its powerful Flathead, captivating black and flame job exterior and comfortable interior, it offers the perfect blend of style and performance. Owning and driving this original Roadster is not just a privilege; it's a journey through time and a celebration of the enduring passion for hot rods. The Roadster has been recently detailed.
