1984 Ford F-150 XLT 4X4
Selling my classic bullnose Ford Truck. A lot of time and money invested in this truck to get it to where it is today. Over $14,000 invested, not including the original purchase price of this truck. I have an itemized list with costs that includes most items invested in this truck. I'm sure there are items missing and this does not include the time and labor invested. I can send additional photos or videos to interested buyers.1984 Ford F-150 XLT, Short Bed, Regular cab, 4x4, Manual Transmission, with the 351W high output V8. Factory A/C Truck. This is the ultimate package for this truck. Originally ordered with a C6 automatic from the factory. Converted to a 4-speed. Truck is presented in the original/factory ordered colors, two tone black and silver. Original interior, slate grey. Has XLT trim package and towing package.
Everything has been rebuilt on this truck...all premium or OEM parts used. No expenses spared. This is the ultimate driving machine. Build started summer of 2021. Driving since spring of 2022, about 900 miles on build. See itemized list and short descriptions below.

Every seal and gasket has been replaced. All u-joints have been replaced. Truck has 4.56 gears front to back in it.
Motor (351W, 358 cubic inch)
1974 block, heavy webbing (stronger than 80's blocks), bored .40 over (358). Steel Crank, Comp Cams Xtreme 4x4 cam, new rods, new bearings, seals, gaskets, rings, valve springs, valve seals, lifters, GT40 high performance heads, high rise aluminum intake, Holley 750 carb, shorty headers, billet distributor, new coil, Taylor wires...
Transmission (Borg Warner T18, 4-Speed)
NOS front steel bearing retainer (replaced used aluminum cover, prone to wear), new nylon shifter fork pads, new seals, new gaskets, new shifter pin, little to no wear on gears, new clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, fork, boot.
Transfer Case (NP208F)
Selectable transfer case, 2H, 4H, N, 4L, new chain, new seals, new gaskets.
Front end axle (Dana 44, 30 Spline)
Yukon Grizzly limited slip diff, 4.56 gears, all new spicer u-joints, original axles, new seals, Timkin bearings, and gaskets, Warn lock out hubs.
Rear end axle (Ford big bearing, 9", 31 Spline)
Richmond limited slip diff, richmond 4.56 gears, Yukon Grizzly 31 spline axles, Timkin bearings, seals, gaskets, etc.
Both driveshafts have been rebuilt with new u-joints.
Brakes:
New rotors up front, pads, and hoses. New cardone master cylinder and booster. New brake shoes and drums on rear.
Interior:
Brand new carpet installed. New door threshold sills. New headliner and new sun visors installed. New deluxe dome light with map lights. New instrument cluster with tach. New clutch and brake pedal assembly. New steering wheel column (non-tilt). New 6x9 speakers and boxes behind seat. New 6.5" speakers in the doors. New Speaker wire from all speakers to head unit. New glove box hinge. New ignition switch, new headlight switch, new windshield wiper switch with delay. No rips or damage on the seat. Need door panels and dash cap to complete. AM/FM with cassette radio came out of a 1984 crown Vic. Radio is wired up but does not turn on... could be a simple wiring issue, ground, etc or could be the radio itself. Have not spent the time to diagnose it. I have acquired another 1984 radio with AM/FM cassette that will be included for parts if need be. Has digital clock installed in the center of dash but does not have harness plugged in (I have the original clock harness and it will be included). Original XLT trim, steering wheel, and seat.
Exterior:
Brand new side view mirrors. New top cab lights (amber). Replaced headlight bezels with nice OEM bezels. Restored aluminum tailgate panel with new NOS letters, gaskets, and hardware. Brand new front gas tank with sending unit and straps installed. New sending unit for rear tank installed. Paint on the truck is in poor condition, top clear coat is peeling or gone in some places.
Body:
Body needs some work. Some dings, dents, and rust. I replaced the passenger side floor board (not a professional install, but the rust is gone, it's solid, and sealed off). Looks like someone previously replaced the cab corners. Corners are relatively solid there is some bondo present and will need to be redone to be perfect. The bottom of the B-pillars on both side are rusted and nearly gone on the inside of the door openings (just the outside of them). These will need to be replaced. You can acquire these as a pair for $55. Rockers are extremely solid with no rot. A-Pillars are solid. Doors are in good shape with very little rust, bottoms are pretty solid with small amount of surface rust, bottom corners are solid. Fenders have some pin holes and a little rust, they are repairable. The bed will need a ton of work or be replaced. The the driver side wheel well arch is gone from rust. The passenger side wheel well arch is pretty solid, there is some rust coming through. Bottom rear section of bed on both sides are rusted through. Driver side top rail has a hand full of dents that will require extensive repair. Inside of bed and floor is in very good shape. Tailgate is completely rusted out at the bottom and has rust on top. Tailgate works, handle was replaced and new plastic clips were installed so it opens and closes perfectly.
Trim:
Has all XLT trim from front to back. Few pieces have some dings/scratches. Has XLT bumpers on it with XLT trim.
Steering/Suspension:
New Skyjacker 5" lift shocks front to back, new front springs, poly bushings, new tie rod ends, new steering box, new steering linkage, new steering center bar, new steering pitment arm, new upper and lower ball joints, new camber adjusters, 4 wheel alignment, etc.
Exhaust:
Shorty headers, full 2.5" dual exhaust with 3" glasspacks.
New ECM... literally everything you can think of has been replaced. Reference list below.
Overview:
This truck gets attention from everyone! People breaking their necks to see it. Scares children and old ladies... Strong running and reliable truck. Idles like a drag car. Has lots of power. Geared extremely low. Tach's around 3k at 70 miles an hour. I've drove this truck on the highway no problem. has 35" Super Swamper TSL bias ply mud tires on it. Original 15" styled steel wheels with chrome rings and caps. Handles well for a 5" lifted truck on 35's. Brakes nice. 1st gear is more like a crawler gear, due to the truck being geared so low and 1st being a granny gear. Basically a 3-speed manual with crawler gear. Take off in 2nd and shift through 3rd and 4th. Fourth gear is 1:1 ratio. Shifts great. Clutch has been broke in and adjusted. Motor and axles have been broke in. Transfer case shifts nice. Four wheel drive is amazing, true 4x4 truck with having two limited slip differentials in it and lock out hubs, all four tires spin. Selectable transfer case allows you to drive in 2wd. Around 12 mpg, runs on 87 pump gas. All lights work, brights, turn signals, etc. New windshield wipers, motor, switch with delay. Truck is loud, has glasspacks on it. I have a new A/C compressor included, not installed.
What it needs to be perfect:
Door panels and dash cap.Body work and paint.Has a couple exhaust leaks that need to be addressed (one at driver side header connection and one at one of the mid-pipes)Cab body bushings (passenger side is bad)A/C hooked up.Tank selector valve needs installed and front gas tank needs line connected to new valve (New selector valve included).
It's a running and driving truck how it sits. Does not need anything to be drivable and dependable. Be a great mud truck. This thing is set up for off road. Front tires will slightly rub if you cut the steering hard.
There is a lot I am probably missing. Hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars have been put into this thing. Gets a lot of attention. These old bullnose fords are getting harder to find, especially the 4x4 short beds. This one is optioned extremely well from the factory and sports great color combo. Note:
I have a rust free original tailgate and a nearly rust free 6.5', dual tank, short bed. Bed is solid and straight with a little rust on driver side wheel arch. Willing to make a deal to add these items with the truck for the right price. Can send pictures of the extra bed and tailgate if someone is interested.
