Description:
1979 Ford F-150
Up for auction is my restored 1979 Ford F-150 4x4 long bed Truck. I'm relisting it because I recently Upgraded the front grill, headlight trim, and mirrors and tires and wheels. The restoration was completed about a year ago and as time marches on I find myself not doing the things that would require a truck like I used to, so I'd rather see it go to someone who can use it. It has been garage kept and has never seen the winter months or bad weather since the restoration. I've used it to haul my scrap metal from my rebuilds to the recycler and have put a thick rubber mat over the new bed that was installed.I will list the main items of the restoration but there are many more that I will probably forget. If you should have questions please submit on Ebay.
Body and bed were removed from the frame and the frame was sanded and painted with frame primer and paint. Because of the engine mods, the engine has additional torque, so the frame was strengthened by installing cross members above the rear axle. All of the hangers for the leaf springs were replaced. A Sky Jacker suspension 4 inch lift, with new shocks all around, was installed along with new suspension bushings under the cab. The Dana 44 front axle was rebuilt with new bearings, seals, and Warn premium hubs. The rear axle (Ford 9 inch) was rebuild with new bearings, seals, and hardware. The rear suspension is an F250 suspension. Both drive shafts were replaced by heavy duty drive shafts built by A-1 driveshafts in Columbus, Ohio. The entire front suspension was replaced and new adjustable rods were installed.
All new brakes, brake pads, hubs, master cylinders, etc. were installed. The truck stops great. An adjustable brake balancer has been installed to dial in the fluid power to the rear brakes a lot better than the factory setup.
The body and truck bed were all sanded down and the floor in the cab was replaced along with the door pillars where they usually rot out. All rust was removed and metalized. The entire truck bed was replaced along with the bed support angles. You can see the new bed in the photos as well as the new floors. The interior floors were primered, painted and wrapped in Xmat thick sound and temperature floor covering both on the interior side and on the bottom. The cab is very quiet and you can hardly hear the dual 2 1/2 inch mufflers.
The engine is a big block 351M. To let the engine breath better than the factory setup, a Weiland performance intake manifold was installed as well as headers and dual 2 1/2 inch exhaust going into flow thru mufflers. Also, a Holley Sniper EFI carburetor and control system has been installed. The Sniper system eliminates all the cold start problems or hot start problems all year around. Also the Sniper system helps to achieve performance and economy gains. Basically, you can tune the carb to perform how you would like it to perform, from performance to economy. I have it set up somewhere in between the two. The system has an oxygen sensor and temperature and ignition monitor that you can see on a touch screen mounted in the cab. See Photo. Speaking of temperature, before I forget this, the radiator was upgraded to an aluminum 3 pass radiator with dual electric fans that are controlled and settable in the Sniper touch screen. And yes, it still has the engine pulley driven fan but it's probably not needed as the engine runs very cool.
The C6 3 speed automatic transmission was rebuilt by Monster Transmission with heavy duty clutch plates and components. Shifts Great and should last a long time. Also a Derale remote transmission cooling system has been installed that is also controlled by the Sniper and is settable at the touch screen.
The truck has a set of 4 brand new (less than 50 miles) Cooper AT3 33 inch x 12.50 tires mounted on brand new American Racing Baja style black wheels. Looks great. Tires have a transferable 2 year road hazard warranty.
Other Misc. Items that I didn't mention about the build are:
New dash, interior panels, seat foam and seat. Good quality black vinyl that feels like it's leather.New AC Delco battery with 750 cranking amps.New heater core and blower and temperature control unit cablesSony CD/Blue Tooth stereo system with 1000 watt amp and six Infinity speakers. Sounds great.Lockable tool box mounted in the bed. Sorry doesn't come with tools. Fire Extinguisher mounted in the cab.
Suspension has 4 inch drop brackets on the body stabilizer member, the two radius arms and the pitman arm drops four inches. Exterior paint is a Metallic Dark Gray and is covered by 3 coats of clear coat. Final coat has been wet sanded to 3000 grit and polished and shines up really nice.
Truck comes with the original owner's manual and the plastic keys that the dealers used to duplicate your keys if you lost them.I also have a three inch thick folder of all of the build receipts and documentation on the Sniper System. I also have photos of the entire build process.
I know I'm forgetting a lot as this build took about two years but that is the basics. It's not meant to be a show truck but it looks great and gets a lot of compliments and runs down the road just fine. I can help with loading and or shipping arrangements as much as possible and I don't mind storing the truck inside until you can pick it up or drive it home. Good Luck Bidding!
Truck does not have a warranty. All sales are final.I reserve the right to cancel this auction at anytime because the truck is also advertised elsewhere.
