Launched in 1964 as a mid-year model, Fords sporty new Mustang created an overnight sensation as the most successful new-car introduction of all time. It also established a totally new market segment and inspired competing models from every American manufacturer. While offered in coupe and convertible body styles, the 2+2 Fastback body style remains a true favorite today. While rooted in Fords legendary Total Performance era of the 1960s, the first-generation Mustang also lends itself extremely well to the skillful touch of todays restorers and builders.
Equipped with the GT package including fog lamps, this sleek 1965 Mustang 2+2 Fastback is an outstanding case in point, benefiting from a professional restoration completed in California during 2009. In 2013, the 351 CI engine was rebuilt, stroked to 418 CI and upgraded to 575 HP and 500 pounds-feet of torque. Power is sent to the road with a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission and 8.8-inch limited-slip rear end, with the chassis enhanced by subframe connectors and traction bars. Colors are excellent, comprising Burgundy paint over a desirable Black vinyl Pony interior. Other desirable features include an AM/FM radio, front disc brakes, a full spare wheel/tire assembly and roadside tools. Thoroughly reviewed by The Last Detail, this awesome GT-equipped 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 is a great driving performer and ready to enjoy. Truly a wolf in sheeps clothing - see it for yourself and make it yours! Be sure to contact us today for complete details!
