Description:

1961 Ford F-100

I'm listing this because I assume there are a bunch of people out there, surfing the web with nothing to do that need this truck!
Up for sale is my truck I like to call "Conflicted Identity" LOL It is a 1961 Ford F100 Unibody pickup (bed and cab are all one piece), which has been completely rotisserie restored from top to bottom, and then I merged it with a 2005 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor running gear and drive train. So, you have a vintage truck looks, but modern operation.
The 1961 Ford F100 is a cool looking body style to begin with, and then Ford offered the 1/2 ton trucks in a Unibody design integral one piece body for only 3 years, so they are getting a little rare, especially in decent condition. This truck was pretty solid to start, not like Arizona solid, but decent enough to be worth the time.
The body was removed from the frame and completely sandblasted. Any damaged metal was replaced with replacement panels, or with hand formed parts we made, when nothing was available. The entire body has been sprayed with PPG epoxy sealer, all body work completed then primed and hand block sanded a couple times before being sprayed with base coat, clear coat paint system in colors very close to the original colors the truck came in. The underneath is all undercoated over the sealer. The bed is sprayed with white truck bedliner. The cab floors all have sound deadening mat applied and then a custom carpet set installed. All unneeded holes in the dashboard and firewall were welded up and bodyworked before painted. I replaced one door and the hood with clean, used replacement parts and the tailgate is a brand new aftermarket panel. The bed floor is a complete replacement. All the body mounts are brand new. All the glass run channels in the doors are brand new as is all the exterior chrome. All the weatherstrips and window gaskets are new. The glass is all original to the truck and in good shape. The front inner fenders are new as well as the radiator support.
The frame is original to the truck. It was sandblasted, epoxy sealed and painted satin black with urethane paint. The frame rails have been boxed, meaning the open C-channel design the truck came with has now had 1/8" steel plating welded to the inside to make the rails into a box design, for extra strength. The rails have been modified in the engine compartment to be the proper height to accept the aluminum crossmember and complete front suspension from a 2005 Crown Vic donor car. If you did not know, the Crown Vic cars from 2002 and up have a removable, aluminum engine and suspension cradle, which carries the 4.6 overhead cam engine as well as rack and pinion power steering, large disc brakes and coil over suspension. These crossmembers are the correct width to fit the F100 truck well and provide a great upgrade, making the truck handle and drive like it is on rails!
The engine and transmission are out of a 2005 Crown Victoria. It is a 4.6 liter overhead cam Police Interceptor engine coupled to a 4R75W overdrive transmission. The rear axle assembly is also out of the same car, and it is a Posi-Trac unit. The car I used as a donor I purchased from a state auction in KY. It was used as a housing authority car and it had 80,000 miles on it as the time it was damaged from an accident and taken out of service. The complete drivetrain runs extremely well.
Now, at the time I started this project, 8 years ago, no one really made a stand-alone wiring harness to make this engine run outside of the original car, and I did not want to be the guinea pig for someone to practice building one with. I ended up buying a Holley MSD transmission controller, a Holley MSD timing control system, which fires the original coil-on-plug setup from the factory crank sensor and finally this year a Holley MSD Atomic fuel injection system, which sits on a new Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. All three of these systems are linked to each other. The timing controller is currently running the stock, mild timing curve it came with, but it could be further tuned with a laptop, Holley software and a dyno, if you wanted to maximize the potential. The transmission controller works really well and allows the transmission to use all 4 speeds as well as the lock-up torque converter. Shift points and firmness are all adjustable, using the handheld controller. The Atomic fuel injection system is a self learning system that tunes itself as you drive, but it also has its own handheld programmer to allow you to make your own adjustments and see the output from all the sensors for diagnostics. The wiring harness has been completely replaced with a 21 circuit harness from Painless, (I think). Everything on the truck works and all the switches are new. The electric cooling fan is also controlled thermostatically.
We installed a brand new Vintage Air A/C and heat system on the truck. The system uses the original ford compressor on the engine, so there are no oddball brackets or belts needed. The system works extremely well.
The seat has been reupholstered in matching material to compliment the color of the truck. The carpet is new. The headliner is new. The all-in-one gauge in the dash is from Classic Instruments. It is a digital speedometer, getting it's signal from the transmission. The rest of the gauges in it are analog. The fuel tank behind the seat is brand new. The electric fuel pump is rail mounted and all the hard lines and hoses are brand new, all with A-N fittings. All the hard brake lines are brand new as well. The master cylinder, booster, radiator, driveshaft are all Crown Vic.
The engine has a set of stainless steel headers installed, exiting in front of the rear wheels through a custom stainless system, a pair of chambered mufflers and 2 dual outlet stainless tips.
The wheels are 2015 Mustang (I think). I did not want to do anything custom with the wheels because the chances of me picking something the buyer would like are slim. I also did not install any type of radio. Those two items are very buyer specific items and choosing the wrong things can be throwing money away when the buyer does not like the choice.
I have more pictures from before to after, which I will give to the buyer. I also have all the manuals to go with the systems we installed.

There is a lot of time and money invested here. I don't mind breaking even, but I will not sell it for a loss. Someone out there is going to get a really nice truck at a fraction of what it would cost the regular person to pay to have all of this done. I don't think you could find a better one done this way anywhere.
