1988 Ford Mustang LX

1988 convertible Ford Mustang 5.0 automatic . Condition is Used. I have owned it for 7 years. I just replaced the transmission and now it won't shift into overdrive. Everyone says it is the shift cable or (TV) cable. I have watched all the videos and tried to adjust it. Still no overdrive. It shifts first, second, third, but no overdrive. It does have reverse. It should go into overdrive around 55 mph, but it does not. I am not a mechanic and am tired of messing with it. I was told the tranny I got came from a running car. I am too old and am not going to remove the tranny again. It is time to let it go.It had a brand new rack and pinion steering gear with new hoses and tie rod ends installed about a month ago. It had new injectors and throttle body installed last summer. It has duel flow masters and headers, with electric fans. A fiberglass cowl hood. The tires are 75%. It is missing a couple pieces of trim and the passenger side mirror is broken off. I have a trunk full of extra parts. The tented head lights are brand new.I still drive it about once a week. Even in it's ruff condition, It turns heads everywhere you go. These are getting harder and harder to find.If you are looking to build one of these fox bodies, this is a good place to start. I have already changed a lot of the things these are known for needing. I have changed the (leaky capacitors) in the ECM. I changed all the relays like the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. I changed the ignition switch and key tumbler. I just put brand new window motors in the front doors about a month ago. The front windows go up and down as they should, the quarter windows need some love. The top goes up and down like it should. I'm sure I forgot something. Just ask if you have questions. This is a running driving car with a clear title in my name. It has always been an Oklahoma car, so NO RUST anywhere. IT DOES NOT SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE...
The red one in the last picture is one I seen on Craigslist the other day. The guy wants $2500 and it's in a million pieces. I want $2,000 for this one and it runs and drives. No shipping, bring a trailer. It won't drive home unless you live here in Oklahoma City.
