Description:
1988 Ford Mustang GT
Purchased in 1992 bone stock. Clean Ma. title. It currently has 51k. original documented miles. Mainly it has been a summer toy that is always stored indoors. I built it as a street/strip car but have not been to the track with it. Less than 1K miles on all speed parts. Runs on 93 octane pump gas. I'm 60 and just don't drive it much any more.Built by a professional mechanic with 45 years of experience. (That would be me..) I know this car very well. Ford 5.0L with factory forged pistons,Vortech H.O. supercharger kit,Powerhouse ported heads, Felpro blue stripe head gaskets and ARP head bolts. Trickflow cam and intake,BBK throttle body, FMS 1.7 roller rockers. Synthetic motor oil always used.Solid motor mounts and trans mount. MAC headers. Flowmaster 2.5" American Thunder exhaust. Gear reduction starter.Upgraded alternator. Ford A9L computer,MSD BTM ignition, 30lb Ford injectors and Ford 30lb MAF. High flow in-tank pump and T-Rex external fuel pump. Large Aluminum radiator with trans cooler. Black Magic automatic electric fan.High flow water pump. Custom built Automatic Acme/Lentech Street Terminator AOD transmission (with 4th gear delete on an electric toggle) Original trans used for build. Precision Industries Stallion custom stall torque converter and B&M ratcheting Hammer shifter. Hurst Line-Lock. Driveshaft loop. Superduty external trans cooler. This shifts with authority, when you want it to.It will shift up/down automatically in "D" but was built to manually hold every gear with the shifter on acceleration. Amsoil synthetic ATF fluid. Factory original 8.8" rear with 3:73-1 Ford Motorsports gears,Powertrax locking diff, Moser c-clip 31 spline axles, ARP wheel studs. Ford synthetic gear lube. Wheels/tires on car currently: Centerline 17"x8" and 17"x9.5" forged wheels. Kumho 295/40/17" V710 DOT slicks rear (like new) and BFG 245/45/17" Comp T/As front (also like new) There is another pair of BFG 245/45/17" tires (like new) mounted on matching Centerline 17x8" wheels that go with the car. QA1 fully adjustable height and dampening coil-over suspension, QA1 tubular subframe and QA1 rod end control arms.SSM rear lower arms,HPM uppers. Torque boxes welded and subframe connectors. Maximum Motorsports 6 point cage (bolted in) with swing out door bars.(drivers side not in photos) Cervinis "Stormin Normin" fiberglass hood and Cervinis Cobra R deck lid and spoiler. New battery last year..mounted in the trunk. Electric cut-off switch in the rear. Summit drag seats. Stock seat belts. Ford radio delete plate. Ford arm rest delete plate. Tens of thousands $$$$$ spent on mods, Hundreds of labor hrs.
The top and frame are not installed, but it will clear the rollbar and is available. It will bolt right back in (includes pump and lines) A/C not functional (the under hood pieces removed but are available) No radio. Wiring intact (wasn't ripped out)
The body is excellent. All lines are perfect. The doors open/close tight. The hood and trunk fit perfectly. The headlights and taillights are original. Harley stickers would come off easily. The moldings are original and look great. The paint is show quality. Factory original colors, PPG Deltron base coat and PPG 2020 clear. coat. Never any rust. Never. All panels are original (except hood and trunk. They are fiberglass.)
Fun street/strip toy. There are additional parts/wheels etc etc. There is a set of M&H Racemaster drag slicks mounted on 15"x8" Centerline wheels (matching the 17" Centerlines on the car) that have never been on the car. (The tires and wheels are new.)I have the roof and frame, the stock seats, a/c parts, and 4 factory Mustang GT turbine wheels.(excellent condition)
Sold as a "hot rod". It is pretty nice for a 30 year old car. If you want a stock one, this is NOT the car for you. No scammers. (I know who you are)
This is a turn key car. The car starts and idles well. It is fast. It shifts hard. It does not overheat. It does not leak anything. It is EASY to work on. All lights work..wipers..heater,power mirrors, horn, parking brake, etc etc. This is NOT some ratty Fox body Mustang that has been sitting in someones back yard for 20 years with critters living in it. It is NOT some wiring nightmare.
$7500. Includes ALL the extra wheels/tires listed, the top and frame (white original with glass..weathered ) the a/c parts that I have (compressor, condenser and lines off the compressor) a fitted car cover, the front seats (power, white leather..need upholstering). It is the buyers responsibility to handle/ship all the extras.
Makes me cry to sell it so cheap...but it is what it is as it is shown. Drive it like this....or make it more "streetable"? At least you aren't starting with a nasty ole basket case. Will trade for 20 foot or longer enclosed car trailer of equal value.Email me first with details on any trade.
Thanks for looking.
June 21st.; Just took it for a drive to literally blow the dust off it. Wow. The first person to see and ride in this car will buy it. Sounds great..accelerates like a banshee and sure gets the looks. I may take it to a local car show this weekend. It will be it's first, as I'm not the car show kind of person...but that seems to be where cars like this sell. Seeing is believing.
