Description:

1984 Ford F-350 Dually 460 V8

You are looking at a survivor 1984 Ford F-350 Dually Pickup Truck. This vehicle is from a local estate and was stored for a long time. It is also previously from Texas so it has far less rust than others in this age range.

The best part is the power train which appears to be original. It is powered by a massive Ford 460 V8, has the bulletproof C6 automatic, as well as the 4.30 heavy duty rear end and even has air conditioning! [isdntekvideo] This Ford F-350 Truck has been adult owned and is amazingly original including what we believe to be a numbers matching drive train. It starts runs, drives and stops, and is a beast that could probably pull a house down.

Mechanically, it drives down the road as expected. It idles a bit rougher than we would expect especially when cold but probably needs a tune up including plugs, wires, cap, rotor and the like. However, when it is warmed up, it has surprisingly good manners down the road and drives well. We do not believe the air conditioning works. We did notice some upper engine lifter tick that seems to come and go.

We noticed the heater core has a leak, the tires are old, there is a bit of lifter tick at times, and we are unsure what has been done to the vehicle over the years. We also noted a few electrical gremlins such as the heat gauge pinning as soon as the ignition is on (sending unit?) and also noticed some creative wiring for the electric brakes and a few wires under the dash.

We were perplexed with what appears to be a clutch pedal. We did check the Carfax and the build numbers and it shows as being an automatic from the factory. We thought it may be for a PTO or thoughts of a manual transmission at one point but unsure. The pedal can easily be removed by the next owner. We are also unsure why the title says WI street modified but know it is cheaper to title the vehicle in this manner instead of the heavy truck it is.

The body is super solid, and the under body is super clean as shown. It probably has been painted at least partially and it will need to be buffed and detailed. One cab corner has some rust, but aside from a few small spots, it is in amazing condition for a 1984. It was drizzling during the photos but the shows well.

The gas tank and sending unit look new. The rear gas tank was removed years ago.The interior is also fairly nice with minimal wear and tear aside from the carpet that should be replaced. The lights work, including the interior courtesy light.

Note the tires are old and while we drove it a few miles, we would NOT suggest driving it anywhere until a safety assessment can be made. There is a bit of smoke from the valve guides that clears up and the battery is new. This truck probably gets 7-10 MPG.

Remember that it needs a restoration or reconditioning and will require some work to be roadworthy. We have no way to know how healthy any component on this truck is but do encourage inspections. Please investigate all concerns, payment or financing and shipping costs prior to placing a bid.

What a great classic truck with the largest motor available that year and a bullet proof power train to boot. It is a great project truck and would probably also make an awesome pulling truck with the 4.60 gears.
