I READ THAT SAVING THE ORIGINAL EXTERIOR PAINT SHOULD BE LEFT TO A PROFESSIONAL ( of which I am not even close to being😜‼️) WHEN YOU VIEW THESE PICTURES TAKE SPECIAL NOTE OF THE FLOORS AND FRAME RAILS THAT HAVE BEEN PERFECTLY PERSERVED BY BEING FACTORY UNDERCOATED AND BEING PUT IN DRY STORAGE 40+ YEARS AGO AS WELL AS THE ORIGINAL SEATS AND CARPET THAT HAVE NO HOLES (there are two small holes in the headliner near the passenger visor ) AND NOTICE THE TRUNK FLOOR AREA THAT CAN STILL BE WAXED UP, ALSO NOTICE ALL OF THE ORIGINAL FOMOCO BODY PANELS THAT HAVE NO RUST THRU - WHICH 95% OF THESE HAVE HAD SOME AND A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF THOSE HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH CHEAP AFTERMARKET PANELS - - AS THEY SAY:::

I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 1978 AND DROVE IT UNTIL 1981 WHEN THE AGE OLD STORY OF "LIFE”HAPPENED —GOT MARRIED HAD KIDS AND 38 YEARS WENT BY😜‼️TURNS OUT I AM REALLY NOT MUCH OF A "CAR GUY" THIS YEAR I HAVE REALIZED IT NEEDS TO GO TO SOMEONE WHO WILL APPRECIATE THIS CAR FOR WHAT IT IS A !!!!TRUE SURVIVOR !!!!
THIS CAR IS IN THE EXACT SAME CONDITION AS WHEN I BOUGHT 41 YEARS AGO IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN INSIDE IN A HEATED GARAGE IT STILL WEARS THE NYLON PLY TIRES FROM 1978!!!
ACCORDING TO THE MECHANICTHIS IS WHAT WAS DONE TO BRING THISCAR BACK TO LIFE FROM IT'S MUMMIFICATION : WHICH MEANS YES THE ENGING DOES RUN !!AND IDLE !!AND MAKES NO SMOKE !!OR FUNNY NOISES!! IT CAN BE SHIFTED THROUGH ALL OF IT'S CLOSE RATIO 4 FORWARD SPEEDS !!AS WELL AS REVERSE!!.AND IT DOES STOP THE BRAKES WORK THE MECHANIC FLUSHED OUT THE OLD BRAKE FLUID
* GAS TANK HAS BEEN DRAINED AND CLEANED** FUEL LINE WAS FLUSHED - RUBBER LINES REPLACED*** FUEL FILTER REPLACED**** CARBURETOR CLEANED*****COMPLETE TUNE-UP: spark plugs, spark plug wires, points,condenser distributor cap, rotor******ANTIFREEZE FLUSHED - NEW UPPER & LOWER RADIATOR HOSES*******OIL AND OIL FILTER CHANGED
THE MECHANIC SAYS HE TOOK THE VALVE COVERS OFF AND PRE-LUBED THE UPPER CYLINDER HEAD VALVE TRAIN AND ALSO TURNED THE CAR OVER WITH THE COIL NOT HOOKED UP IN ORDER TO GET OIL TO FLOW. HE SAYS WHEN THE COIL WAS HOOKED BACK UP THE CAR FIRED RIGHT UP AND IDLED LIKE IT HAD NEVER BEEN DORMANT FOR 38 YEARS‼️ HE SAYS NO LIFTER TIC, NO FUNNY NOISES JUST A SMOOTH RUNNING FORD BIG BLOCK‼️ AS I HAVE STATED I AM NOT A CAR GUY BUT I DO REMEMBER THE SOUND OF THE CAR RUNNING NOW IS THE SAME SOUND I ENJOYED LISTENING TO ALL THOSE YEARS AGO😃‼️
THE PICTURES WERE TAKEN OVER AT THE MECHANICS SHOP ON HIS LIFT HE ALSO SAYS DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT HAS SAT FOR CLOSE TWO 4 DECADES DO NOT ASSUME YOU CAN FLY IN AND DRIVE IT HOME. IT SHOULD BE RAN MORE AND CHECKED OVER AFTER A FEW SMALL AROUND THE BLOCK DRIVES!!
