I LOVE THIS TRUCK AND YOU WILL TOO...1989 FORD F-250, 4X4, EX-CAB AUTOMATIC, 460 V8 EFI, LWB.
This is a great truck. If you are like me, you may have owned a truck like this when you were a kid. My first truck was a 1981 F100 reg cab v8 auto, lwb. I always wanted the 4x4 ex cab 250 series but just could not afford one back then. Now 30 years later I have one. I purchased this truck from a non profit in Reno NV. When I purchased it on the online auction it has a huge slide in camper in the bed. I sent a shipper to haul it back on a flat bed from Reno. It arrived and I remove the slide in camper to discover it had been in the truck for a long long time. The bed of the truck looked as if it had never hauled much of anything.
The truck was running and driving but it had been setting for several years. It was running with a mis. The mechanic found a bent rod so I went a head and had the entire top end rebuilt. I drove it a little and decided it was solid and I already knew I loved the look. So it went on a spending spree. I had the mechanic replace
New Radiator (high performance)New ac condenser, compressor, belt, evap, high pressure hose and all filters and coolers associated with the ac system.New Brake booster,New master cylinderNew rubber brake linesNew calibersNew brake rotorsNew brake shoes and padsNew u joints in drive line and 4x4New hubs and lock outs for 4x4New engine rods, rings seals, gaskets, cylinder head jobs, intake gaskets, throttle body gasketsAll new engine hosesReplacement fan shroudTail gate (from salvage yard)New 16" aluminum wheels and new all season tiresReplacement rear fuel tankTwo new fuel pumps and switchNew fuel lines where required
Replacement left front turn signal cover in the front seat.
And a lot more stuff and labor that I am probably forgetting. Don't get me wrong, it is not like new but it is real good for the age. I am not aware of any mechanical problems with the truck. It starts right up and runs and drives great. It gets lots of looks and comments. There are a few dings and chips here and there. The tail gate is from a salvage yard and is a factory Ford product. I had been looking for a tail gate and all were either after market or beat up or 2000 miles away. This one was 30 miles from my house and only $150. So I am happy to have a brown tail gate that is actually functional. The interior is basically original. The seats are good with no serious issues. The dash has had the soft cover on for a long time and is in very nice shape. The carpet is good with normal wear. The heat and AC and all the gaugeswork. The factory radio works but you can hardly see the display. I have never check the tape player(who has cassettes?) The power windows and locks work good. The cruise works but sometimes kicks out and does not want to set, so lets call the cruise problematic. Also the paint color is a little darker than the factory blue. It looks real nice just darker. Looks like it was professionally painted 20 years ago.
The truck is in its "everyday cloths." Meaning it is not detailed, I simply rinsed it off at the car wash. It has not been smoked in and of course the truck does not smoke either. I would trust it to drive any distance. I simply do not need so many vehicles. I don't get much opportunity to drive the Ford. It sits in the yard most of the time. I have only put about 1500 miles on it since I spent all the money upgrading. I know if it sits in the yard it will run down. I want it to get a good home. I am hoping for someone who love it like I do, or even a first vehicle for the teen. My teens want to drive it and everyone wants to borrow it to move or pull etc. I do NOT loan it out. People just don't understand, it's not something easily replaced if it is destroyed and I just don't want people being rough on my baby. You understand... Speaking of pulling, I don't think it has ever pulled. The factory installed receiver hitch had so much crud build up inside from road silt, it took me an hour to chip and clean it out just to get the hitch in the receiver. I don't think it every had one in it before. Oh yeah and one more thing. The old fella who donated it to the non profitlived in Portola CA. It still has the vinylstickers with the name "Portola CA" on each side. They will easily come off but I just left if for history sake. Please bid and be serious about buying. I do want someone to appreciate the truck and the work that has gone into her. I have spent around $7k on the truck not to mention the purchase price and the $2200 shipping from Reno to Searcy Ark. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. Please call or text 5015937448 in Searcy Arkansas for information. I have the clear title in hand.
It has the big block Ford engine. It was the last of the big block V8 engines built by Ford. It is called the 385 but is actually 460 ci. It is throttle body fuel injected and this makes for easy starting. The truck still shuts tight and drives tight. It has no active oil or fluid leaks that I am aware of. It can see where it has had in its life from some old build up here and there. Over all the truck is solid, runs good, looks good and dependable. It is a great truck to drive daily or just keep as a second vehicle for the bad weather. Since it has not seen snow or off road, you can teach it how, lol.

If you need help arranging shipping I can give you some contacts. We can also pick you up at the Little Rock Airport. Just remember it is 29 years old. Even though it is a great truck, it is old. I drive it all the time, just have not driven over a few hundred miles at a time.
