1967 Ford Mustang Shelby Clone
My loss is your gain. Due to things mostly beyond my control, I cannot hang onto my beloved 1967 Mustang that I was in the process of restoring. Has a new (3k miles) 5.0 engine out of a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer rollover just transplanted. Has a 40+k mile 5-speed manual transmission from an '89 Thunderbird. Has a larger rear end and new drive shaft. Has new brakes all the way around. Has disc conversion on the front and new front suspension. The hard work has been done. Has a Borgeson power steering conversion kit. Has power brakes upgrade. It will make someone a very nice and nice-driving vehicle when complete. New wheels and tires, barely driven. Engine needs to be dialed in. I literally ran out of funds. Also has new battery and starter and over-sized aluminum radiator with electric fan. A little tweaking and it's driving! I spent a lot of time and money on this. Also has new rear springs that lift the rear just a bit. Was in the process of putting black primer on it. Has new dual Flowmaster mufflers. The tachometer works but the wire needs to be put back on the coil. Has a new gas tank. All the gauges were hooked up and working properly prior to the engine swap. I think the only gauge left to hook back up is the factory-looking tach and it's only one little wire going to the coil. The engine was working great and had driven it less than 20 miles and let it sit for a few weeks and then put fuel in it and drove it another 5 miles then went to drive it again and while it idled perfectly, upon acceleration it started acting fuel starved. It may just need a fuel treatment. Body still needs a little work. Have new carpet for it. There is minor rust on bottom front of doors can see in pics. The seats had been recovered but one of the shops scratched the bottom of the passenger seat and my wife's cat did some minor scratching on the very side (driver's side) on the top of the side of the top rear seat. May be able to just replace a couple of panels. Not museum quality, but could be finished as a nice show car or just a fun classic driver. Great time to pic out your own color. I have some of the other parts in storage (bumper, grill, etc.) Have not started putting A/C on it yet. Engine and engine bay have already been painted. As is, where is.
