1965 Mustang Coupe A code automatic
This Mustang has had over $22,000 spent on the restoration of this car. All work was professionally done.This car needs very little to cross the finish line. Below is a description of what has been done and what it needs. The car is located in Centreville Maryland. You can call or text me directly. 443-496-0701.
The body-- new floor pans front and back. New trunk pans and fuel tank.-new rear quarters and new front fenders.-mostly all new exterior chrome. Front bumper is really nice. Rear bumper is driver quality.- nice new paint. No runs. No orange peel. Some small dust particles. The car hasn't even been buffed yet. No body filler that I can find.- nice rockers and frames. Look at the photos.- Window fuzzies inside and out are new. New rubber weather strips on doors top and bottom but bottom still needs installed. -Still needs side shark gill trimif desired.
The drive train--the 289 motor starts easily, idles nice and runs great. The car is roadworthy with exception of the tires. It drives straight and stops straight. The automatic transmission has a leak which appears to be coming from the transmission pan and it comes with a new pan gasket. It does shift fine.-The driver side headerhas an exhaust leak. Inferior gasket was used in suspect a quality gasket will solve the problem. It only leaks when it's cold and seems to go away after its run a few minutes. However it's still annoying. It has new exhaust however there are no tail pipes from the mufflers out of the rear valance. Tail pipes and trumpets are needed.
The interior -- All new Front to back a quality installation. Headliner appears original and in good condition.- still needs arm rests purchased and installed.-Heater box completely rebuilt.-All new wiring up front. I don't recall the rear wiring.
The Suspension-- appears to be 2nd generation. It may or may not need front ball joints and bushings. It doesn't seem to sway or clunk any when driving. Up to the buyer if they want a 100% restored car whether to rebuild the front end or not.- all four brake systems have been gone through. New wheel cylinders all the way around. New pads and drums on the front and just new pads on the rear. Stops and brakes fine.
The wheels and tires-- wheels are driver quality. The tires need replaced. They are cracked in multiple areas however haveenough to trailer orto drive locally.
