Description 1966 Mustang Convertible
Listed on behalf of Monte Shelton.
Located in PORTLAND, OREGON.
VIN# 6R08C229544
This Mustang Convertible was produced July 12, 1966 in San Jose. While the early history is unknown, it received limted use over the years, with now just over 72,000 miles showing, which we are told is correct. It underwent a recent restoration to a very high level. 289 V8. Upgraded from 3-speed to 4-speed manual transmission. WORKING FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING. Excellent interior with tachometer and clock. AM/FM stereo.
Laser-straight, rust-free body was stripped and repainted in correct original "Vintage Burgundy" metallic. Recently professionally polished to a deep, mirror shine. Chrome was replated and is excellent. Rides on vintage redline radial tires wrapping the rally wheels. New convertible top with crystal clear rear window. Raises and lowers easily. Top boot and spare tire in the restored trunk.
Under the hood, the 289 is nicely detailed. Runs and drives great. Smooth and powerful. No smoke or noise. Great acceleration. 4-speed shifts smoothly. Good clutch and brakes. I have personally driven this car and it is a real kick. Handles well at all speeds.
Please see photos and video.
If you are looking for a dialed-in early Mustang convertible with great options and ready to go anywhere, this is it.
