Here is a very rare and desirable 1970 Torino Cobra 429 Super Cobra Jet Drag Pack 4 speed with 3.91 Traction Lock rear axle and factory oil cooler. Factory Dark Blue with blue bucket seat interior. Other options as verified by are powersteering, power disc brakes, console and 15” Magnums. This is a C code non ram air car. It didn’t get much better than this in 1970 and today is one of the most desirable and valuable Torino’s. It appears to have been off the road since the late 70’s or early80’s. The car needs a restoration but would be a great place to start since most of the hard to find parts are present and with the value of these cars you will have lots of room to spend money on a restoration.

The paint is obviously very poor but it does appear to be original paint other than the driver’s door and hood which have been replaced. The body is overall fairly solid, however, there is rust in the front floors, the right quarter behind the rear wheel and the left lower quarter/drop off area. The frame rails, torque boxes and trunk floor are very solid. There is somedamage to the driver’s quarter that is fixable and a slight crease in the right quarter. The taillight panel is damaged in and should probably be replaced, or at least the center of it. The trunk lid has some damage and some rust and should probably be replaced. The hood is a late 70/71 version with no cowl vents and is cut for a shaker. Even though this car didn’t come with a shaker from the factory I planned on putting one on. Rear valance is missing. The windshield is cracked and the chrome is overall decent butwith a car this valuable you will want to have bumpers etc redone. The grill is there but is broken and missing a piece. There are reproductions available or a better option in my opinion is to send it to Larry Z and have him restore this one with pieces fromanother grill. Wheel/tires pictured are not included as they are not correct for the car. It will come with a set of original 15” Magnums that need to be restored and it will come on rollers.

The interior is all original will need to be restored. It does come with brand new, correct, upholstery. Door panels have no speaker holes but the driver’s panel has some warping and needs new backing. The console is there and has the correct4 speed plate. The plastic console body is broken and will need repair. Again this is something that Larry Z. can repair or you can just replace the console body.

The engine is the correct non numbers matching D0VE-A 4 bolt block with correct D0OE-R heads, correct Holley flange intake, finned aluminum valve covers and correct exhaust manifolds. It was disassembled but is now bolted together looselyfor shipment. One exhaust manifold was cracked and has been repaired. It has the complete original oil cooler assembly with lines and adapter. It has the correct RUG AU close ratio big spline 4 speed toploader with original Hurst shifter and T handle. Thetrans looks very nice inside and is ready to go. It still has the correct and original big pulley alternator and big pulley power steering pump. It comes with correct flywheel and clutch linkage. It does not have the original smog, carb, rev limiter, distributor, lower pulley, block plate, driveline or fan shroud. The air cleaner lid is correct, however the base does not appear original. It is also missing the speedo reducer although the correct speedo cable is there. It does have the nodular case 31 spline rear axle.

Overall this is a very worthwhile project being that it is an original Super Cobra Jet Drag Pack 4 speed in a great color combination. The Ford Dark Blue on a Cobra is one of the best looking colors for these cars. I bought this car a fewyears ago as a rolling shell with the intent of restoring it and have been collecting parts. I have listed all the significant parts that are still missing that I can think of but I may have missed something so feel free to ask if something hasn’t been addressed.I have always wanted a Drag Pack Cobra and the only reason I am selling is that I found a 69 GT 350 4 speed car that I am going to restore and I still have another Cobra so I have to thin the herd a bit.

International buyers are welcome. Car is sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. It is available for inspection by appointment only. I have done my best to describe it accurately but please understand that this is a 48year old car that needs to be restored. I have sold quite a few cars on ebay and try very hard to describe them accurately and to make sure potential buyers have any information I would want as a buyer. In fairness to all bidders I will not disclose the reserve.I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, however, my intention is to let the auction run its course unless someone hits the buy-it-now. Reserve is less than buy it now but everybody wants to know what it will take to end the auction so I put a buyit now on there to avoid that question and if this car is exactly what you want and you don’t want to risk losing it then you have an option. Please make sure you have funds available and have gotten permission from your wife, mom or whomever you need permissionfrom before bidding. Full payment must be made within 5 days of auction end and vehicle must be picked up within 21 days of auction end unless prior arrangements are made. Payment by cash or wire transfer only. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer butI will help however I can. Bidders with a feedback rating of 10 or less must contact me prior to bidding or I will cancel your bid. Title is clear and in my name but the first digit is a D instead of a 0 but that is an easy fix at most DMV offices with a pic of the vin. Pretty common to have typos and it's been that way since it was first licensed in 1970.
