RARE TORINO, MARTI REPORT, ONLY 2 OWNERS, 351 V8, AUTO, COLD AC, PS, PB W/DISCS
1969 Ford Torino GT
This 1969 Ford Torino GT coupe is the perfect blend of premium and performance. Beautiful paint, a large A/C interior, and a 351 V8 under the hood combine to deliver fast with class. And don't forget to check out the Marti Report that tells you how rare this one is one of only 18 built like this ever!
This is arguably one of the best designs of the '60s and it was only available for a short time. The Torino was the premium trim level introduced for the sixth-generation Fairlane. It was a radical design departure for Ford's intermediate line of cars. The body design had a bit more of a kick-up at the rear, which gave it a sportier personality. The Royal Maroon paint is the perfect way to showcase it by having the appeal of a speedy red but with a deeper and more sophisticated tone. This attitude is amplified even further because the factory-correct color was given a solid investment in a modern respray. The premium part of this Torino is seen in the way the white rocker stripe nicely coordinates with the vinyl roof. And all that brightwork trim is always a sign of an expensive classic. But don't forget about the performance appearance, too. The sporty GT package added a unique grille with a red accent stripe, deluxe GT wheel covers, and the bold hood scoop that was given some modern carbon fiber flair during the respray.
Another true sign of a premium coupe is when the vinyl roof is a preview of the interior color. And more than just nicely coordinated, this is quite nicely presented, too. The seats, door panels, and headliner looks original and exceptionally preserved. And you don't have to worry about dusting off your shows before entering this white interior because of the newer black carpeting. There is seating for up to six total, and intermediate-size in the '60s means today there's plenty of room for family and friends to spread out. And when everyone comes along for the ride, you'll be able to keep them comfortable with provisions for an AM/FM/cassette stereo as well as air conditioning that's blowing cold from modern R134a. But even when it's just you going cruising, this Torino is a lot of fun. The sporty Rim Blow steering wheel feels nice in your hands, and the four round gauge pods makes this Torino feel like it was an Italian sports car. Plus, power windows mean you never have to leave the driver's seat to show off the pillarless hardtop profile.
When you lift the hood, there's more signs of a nice investment. The bold blue block, bright valve covers, and matching air topper create an attractive package. And all those factory decals and even the battery create a nice original presentation. It's the perfect place to hold the believed to be original 351 cubic-inch V8. This is already a powerful motor from Ford, and it only gets better with a four-barrel carburetor on top. It's the same kind of setup you'd love to have in a Mustang, so this has plenty of power to keep the dual exhaust making the proper throaty sounds. On the more practical side, the optional three-speed automatic transmission is flexible enough that you can take this car everywhere from around town, to long trips down the highway. Plus, power steering, front disc brakes, and modern Hankook tires only heighten this easy cruising attitude.
This coupe looks so good because it was under the same owner's care up until 2015. It also comes with the right paperwork like the owner's manual, title docs, reproduction window sticker, reproduction build sheet, and the Marti Report.
