Up for your consideration is my custom built '56 F100. This truck never fails to draw a crowd and turn heads. It's a blast to drive and runs down the road straight and strong. This is not a "drag race" truck but rather a very streetable "old skool" cruising hot rod. a rebuilt Ford FE 390 CID (from a '66 Mercury) with a new 4bbl intake manifold and a Holly 600cfm Carburetor.Ford C6 3-speed Automatic transmission.
The Ford 9-inch rear end was narrowed 7 inches by Williams Street Rod. Rear end gears are 3.25 open. It'll turn those meaty Micky Thompson tires with ease.
New custom built exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers (all clean welded with no unsightly clamps). Sanderson's Block Hugger Headers with "H" pipe. Sounds awesome, like a hot rod should, but not too loud.
Mustang II front suspension with Power Steering and 11 inch GM big brake kit. Front end is boxed. 1972 Ford F250 swing pedal power brake set up. Truck steers and stops great.
The rear frame is C-notched. The leaf springs are mounted on the inside of the frame rails (see pictures). The rear-end had an axle flip done and got 2 inch drop blocks installed. All welding and fabrication work was done right and clean. The stance on this F100 is perfect, very stout looking.
Front seats (from a 2001 Ford Crown Vic) were professionally recovered a couple of months ago and look fantastic with the black fabric and red piping. The hood is off a '55 F100 which gives the nose a nice tappered look. 3-inch wider than stock fiberglass rear fenders from Speed Way Motors. The inside tubs are from a 1950 Dodge truck. The mating of the inner and outer rear fenders look near seamless from behind. Looks very cool and why I opted not to put a tailgate on. The fuel tank, located in the bed, is an 11 gallon spun aluminum tank.
Lots of new parts recently .... Brand new chrome grille from MidFifty. All new glass including doors, windshield, and rear window (only remaining original glass are the vent windows. Before deciding to sell the truck I was going to do the 1 piece door glass conversion. I know that's a preference that not all people like so I opted to install new OEM style door glass.) In addition to the new glass are new rubber gaskets (front and rear) and new door window seal kits and glass runs. I also installed new door inspection plates and hardware, new door handles and window cranks, and a new ignition switch (all from LMC Truck).
There has been alot of great metal fabrication work on the truck. The truck is rust-free top to bottom and front to back. Always garaged and never driven in the rain. Tires are all in like new condition and all lights, turn signals, and guages function as they should.
The paint is a flat black that looks really good for what it is. I had considered block sanding it and having it flat clear coated to give it a bit of sheen and smoothness. The last exterior picture shown in the listing is of it wet ... that's what it would look like gloss black, which would be nice too. If you go to a gloss finish there are a few little dings here and there that would need to be smoothed that aren't noticable in the flat finish it's wearing currently. Bottom line, it's a dang cool badass '56 F100 that can be driven and enjoyed just as it is or add a few touches to make it how you want.
