You are bidding on a 1972 Mach 1 Cobra Jet. This car was sold locally here in Kentucky when new and the Marti report verifies that. This car stayed in the same county since new. The original owner kept it until 1982, then sold it to a friend who kept it until 2016 when I purchased it and gave it a cosmetic restoration. I drove it home and worked on it as time permitted. The car is numbers matching engine, trans, rear-end. Engine is 351 Cleveland Cobra Jet. Has original Cobra Jet heads. These are different than 2-V heads and 4V heads. Engine is 040 over with flat tops, single plane intake, 650 CFM Holley and hooker headers, don't know lift in cam but it is very healthy. This engine is very strong, transmission is top loader 4 speed original to car, rear-end is 9 inch N case with 350 gears. It has disc brakes and power steering no air conditioning. The Q code cars got completion suspension. Bigger Sway bars, stiffer springs, staggered rear shocks. This Mach 1 runs and drives great, shifts like it should. Engine runs cool and starts first crank. All lights work, wipers, heater, etc. It has a pioneer radio/CD but is not hooked up. Car was disassembled, engine was resealed, painted, detailed, and the body was took to metal with new quarter outer wheel houses. Body work done, painted, and buffed. Interior was good. Door panels were replaced. Everything else was cleaned up. The previous owner had gotten the seats redone in diamond pleat. This is a very nice Mach 1 Cobra Jet that can be drove and enjoyed. This is not a sema car but a very respectable driver. Below is a list of parts bought & installed:
