1973 Mustang Convertible, “Q” code, 351 Cobra Jet, 4 speed, 3.25 Traction-Lok rearaxle, staggered rear shocks, Factory rear sway bar, Factory tach, Center console.Highly optioned car with the following options per the Marti report; Traction-Lokdiffererential, Optional axle ratio, Extra cooling option, Instrumentation group,Convenience group, Power steering, Console, Interval windshield wipers, Color keyedracing mirrors, Tinted glass, Power side windows, Competition suspension, WhitePower top.

Currently the car has a black top, magnum 500 wheels, and an after market stereo. It still has the original ginger interior which is tired. The interior panels were painted and don’t look good. the drivers seat has splitting at the seam, the passenger seat and rear seat are good. The dash pad is new repop. The car appears to have all its original panels except the hood. The hood is a Mach 1 style repop. There is no obvious body panel rust. There is some sign of body work in the lower passenger quarter panel. But overall the panels are very straight and solid. The paint is about 20 years old and was done very well. The quarters and doors still shine nicely. The fenders were scuffed by car cover straps, the repop hood was never painted. The bottoms of the doors and the door jams are solid. The trunk is solid, the drivers trunk drop off has a patch that could have been done better, the rockers and frame rails are rock solid. I could only find a few small soft spots in the floor that I will point out in the video. Overall the floors are very solid. The motor is numbers matching and runs pretty good. I put a new Edelbrock carb. on the existing aftermarket aluminum intake manifold, the distributor is electronic. So the air cleaner, distributor, and intake manifold are aftermarket. The power top works as it should, there is power to all the windows through the switch on the drivers door however onlty the drivers door window works correctly, the other windows require assistance going up and down.

The previous owner was going for the Mach 1 look with the car. As you can see with the addition of the hood, magnums, and the deck spoiler. The plan was to repaint the green and add silver accent stripes on the hood and body side stripes. He also was in the process of changing the interior color to black. I have nice black door panels for both doors and both panels for the back seat, the dash pad is new, the metal part of the dash was dyed black while it was out for the new pad installation. I also have two very nice white bucket seats and white rear seat. The center console is black and is in excellent condition, no cracks. I also have a complete, black, tilt wheel steering column for a 73 mustang if you care to add another option to the list.

The car starts right up, it runs pretty good and the brakes work. At the bare minimum the car will need a complete brake job as the front rotors are getting thin and the pads are thin as well, the back brakes were pretty good but the car sat quite a few years and should be refreshed. The exhaust system will need to be replace, the tail pipes are shot and the rest is just rusty.

I saw some sources that put this car as one of 292 built. Meaning in 1973, out of the thousands on Mustangs built, only 292 were convertible, cobra jet, 4 speeds. One could say that makes this car fairly rare or at least unique. This is a running and driving project car with lots of extra parts. The car is being sold basically as I got it. I put it together, gotit running and cleaned it up. The car is sold as is. Please ask questions if you don't see something or want to see more. I try to give honest descriptions. SometimesI tend to overlook some things on old cars because I excpect problems, so ask. Old cars have issues, I do not believe this car has any serious/expensive issues but watch the video and descide for yourself. Thanks.
