Cars like this are getting harder and harder to find. Especially as original as this 1970 Ford LTD. This is a two previous owner vehicle that was originally purchased in Florida. It stayed in Florida until the late 2000's. I bought it off the second owner who was 78 years old and drove the car daily. I saw it sitting in his driveway. I knocked on the door and we made a deal after 3 weeks of negotiating. I put about 300 miles on it and it is very powerful and runs like a clock. This is a complete original driver. Exterior:
The body of the car is, ike I said original. The video below will tell you all about the car and the pictures were taken this week. I think the car was repainted once years ago. But it still may wear some of its original paint. There has been some repair here and there. The driver's door has about a 8" repair and the paint doesn't quite match. The passenger rear lower quarter panel has about a 3" round area of what looks like rust repair. Other wise the car is absolutely solid. Solid floors, runk and frame. 100% Solid. The body is straight and there is what looks like to be a dent that was pushed out from behind, ee the pictures, ot bad at all and if you have a good dent guy he can make it look even more non noticeable.
The chrome is 100% original along with all the stainless and bright-work and still shines nicely. All the glass is in excellent condition. The vinyl top is original and will need to be replaced. Not all ripped up but its thin and starting to break off at the lower corners. One section has about a dime size whole that will have to be addressed when you put a new top on.
The paint shines nicely. I wet sanded it, ompounded, uffed and waxed it. Looks nice but far from perfect!!
The outside is not perfect but is in extremely solid, traight original condition. Great driver. Oh, he lower front driver's side marker light is a make shift light that works but is not the right one.
Interior:
The interior is 100% original. The dash is split from the FL sun. The seats are really nice for the age, ut both main seams are separating. Just needs to be stitched. There is an aftermarket stereo with door and rear deck speakers and remote. Original radio still intact. Other then the goofy dices as control knobs, verything else is original. The dash you can resurface cause it comes off with screws. Headliner is like brand new and original. The rear seat is excellent and the deck lid could use carpet. Everything except the a/c works. The first owner had the a/c converted to R134 but it will need at least a charge. The previous owner said it did operate about 2 summers ago. Engine:
The engine and trans are original to the car. Its a 390 V8 4 barrel engine the literally screams. The research I've done shows this engine producing 325 horse power. The original intake and carb have been removed and an Edelbrock intake and Holly 4BBL carburetor has been installed.....years ago. The car runs and shifts flawlessly. Will literally roast the rear tire if you let it!! Tires are fair and safe but will need to be replaced. Car has dual exhaust and front factory disc brakes.
This is a great original car that is 46 years old. A great driver and weekend projecter. Hard to find with these miles and condition. You can completely change the look of this car with a set of Cragers and raised white lettered tires.
