1963 Dodge Power Wagon Grey
1963 Dodge Power Wagon
Finish my project for a standout ride! Most of the work is already done now it just needs assembly and Paint or not depending on your preference. Glad to answer any questions I never planed to sell this truck but for personal reasons am forced to let it go.
Vehicle Details
The frame was sanded down and coated with rust stopper and enamel paint. The shocks were upgraded on all 4 corners. The original leaf springs were worn so a company in PA custom manufactured 3-leaf spring, along with new bushings and hangers. The original differential was drained, cleaned and inspected, and refilled with clean gear oil. The old axle shafts were pulled, and new billet aluminum shafts were made and mounted with new bearings. All four wheels had all brake backers removed and cleaned, and new pads, springs, wheel cylinders and shims installed. New front axle king pins and all the ball joints (hard find!) There is a new gas tank, with a new gas line run, a new pickup and float installed. The rusted out wheel tubs were cut out and new steel welded back in. The plywood floor was torn out and new solid wood plank and t-channel floor cut. New custom radiator that matched the size and layout of the original. Original engine/transmission sent toAtomic Motors in Las Vegas, and they machined it down and rebuilt them both to original. New alternator, new 4 bbl carb and a new air intake/filter (the original was missing). There is a new water pump mated to the original mechanical fan. Replaced the clutch master cylinder and upgraded brake master cylinder to a 2 chamber vacuum assist. Replaced all the grounding straps and the starter, and put in all new resistors and relays needed to run. Painless wiring harness needs o be finished and sleeved. The exhaust system manufactured from a company that still has the original dies installed with new hangers.
MAKE IT A RUNNER
The fuel line will need to be connected to the tank (the line is run, just need a flare connector). The brake lines need to be run from the master cylinder to the rest of the wheels. The dash needs to be wired. Then, it should start, should run, should drive. Needs secured to frame and new body mount bushings.
I have all the trim parts the grill, both headlight bezels, both running light bezels and buckets, both rear teardrop taillight fixtures (needs new bulbs/wires), and the four side marker light housings and all emblems.Driver door handle off because of a rusted set screw, but I have it. Have both bumpers, they need to be re-chromed/painted. I have no mirrors. I have the rear wheel well stone guards for both sides.
Body is rock solid with only surface rust no cancer from sitting waiting to be finished.
New oversized tires and wheels included. I have the old instrument cluster along with a brand new one so you can decide which you prefer.
I also have all glass intact except for the passenger window which is easy to get. Also have an intact original steering wheel in addition to the one on it now. No front seats but I do have a rear bench from an Excursion in great shape.
