1956 Dodge Other Pickups

Vehicle Details

Boyertown body company built 1/2 ton delivery truck, 1956 dodge pickup base, was originally a liquor delivery truck for Freindly Liquors in Chicopee, Massachusetts. It’s been fitted with a rebuilt 331 Chrysler hemi topped with an industrial twin carburetor intake with nos Carter 2bbl carbs, stainless headers, new fuel pump, alternator, water pump, and factory dual point ignition.  Transmission is a Ford t170 toploader four speed overdrive that has been adapted with an old cragar adapter and an early ford 4 spd transmission hogshead.  It’s got a mopar 8.25” rear axle with 3.50 gears and up front a ford f100 dropped front axle and spindles has been adapted to the stock dodge spring with disc brakes, a dual reservoir master cylinder, and new brake lines/hoses/shoes/pads/rotors. Parking brake mechanism has been rebuilt and new cables installed in all positions. Fuel tank was boiled out, new fuel lines and auxiliary electric pump and dual filters installed.  Stock steering box was rebuilt, new steering rod ends. Mild steel exhaust, new glass pack mufflers. New universal 12v wiring harness installed and all lights work, all gauges work, heat/defrost works, horn works, even the original vacuum wiper works too. Staggered size hankook radials on original 16” steel wheels add to the raked stance. This truck runs great, lots of torque for around town and with the overdrive 4th, it cruises comfortably at highway speeds. Always runs cool even in the heat of summer. Original frame is rock solid, body has a few small rust areas as seen in the pics although it is remarkably solid for its age, floors are perfect. It would be a great and functional way to promote your business, or just a fun cruiser, and you would never have to worry about seeing another one park next to you at a show!
