Vehicle Details

Western truck from Nevada. Built as a Vintage Race Tow rig. Original 318 Polyspherical V8. Granny 4 speed manual with a Spicer (Dana 60) Suregrip rear end (4.11:1 ratio).

The blue paint is stained and faded, but the body is rust free and solid. There is some minor rust in the left hand door at the front and rear bottom. The Roof, interior, engine bay, underside of cab and box have all been painted to clean up truck and preserve the rust free metal.

The truck is quite reliable with much of the drive-line has been refreshed or updated. There are several custom touches or upgrades as follows:

• Halogen headlights

• New underhood wiring, new alternator, alternator bypass bulkhead connector

• Modern dual horns mounted on Rad Support

• Mopar Electronic Ignition

• New lower end main and rod bearings

• New Melling hi-volume oil pump

• New Valve Seals

• New Clutch Master and slave cylinder, clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing

• Exhaust has been updated to dual exhaust, with turbo mufflers, x-pipe and custom stainless-steel stacks.

• Rear wiring harness is new and supports the new trailer connectors

• Clearance lights installed on roof

• Glass rubbers were replaced front and rear, with a new windshield installed upfront.

• New Door seals

• Rollup windows function well and there are new wiskers installed to seal the window.

• Custom gauges, oil pressure, water temp, vacuum and voltage are mounted in a custom gauge pod

• Sun Super Tach monitors engine RPM.

• Original speedometer, AMP, Fuel, Water Temp, hi-beam light and oil pressure light all function normally

• New inertial trailer brake controller is installed in the cab and connected to rear hitch connector and box bed connector.

• Updated heater control in the cab. The blower works but unfortunately the heater core is currently bypassed due to leak.

• Pioneer CD player with speakers mounted in custom boxes on kick panels

• Vents are functional and seal when shut

• New grey headliner installed.

• New full cab rubber floor mat installed with extra insulation underneath

• Seat belts from a later Sweptline have been installed.

• The seat has been refinished with a two-tone blue Marine vinyl

• Rearview mirror and door mirrors are new aftermarket units

• New glovebox insert

• Rear frame was boxed and goose neck hitch with hide away ball installed under the bed. The box mounts are hardwood and the questionable mounts replaced. The box is in excellent condition ignoring the bumps and bruises

• Class 4 Reese hitch was installed under the frame

• Firestone load assist air bags were installed with manual fill Schrader valves.

• The Axle is an original Dana 60 with Sure Grip. New bearings and clutches were installed in the sure grip. The ring and pinion is 4.11:1

• The spare tire is mounted in a modern elevator that raises and lowers the spare on a cable

•The wheels are 17” late model chrome RAM steel wheels. The spare matches.

As you can see, this has been a fun reliable truck for me to drive and work on. There have been lots of improvements, but the truck is still a complete original Western truck from Nevada with all the issues addressed.
