HISTORY

The General Lee (sometimes referred to as simply "the General") is a 1969 Dodge Charger driven in the television series The Dukes Of Hazzard by the Duke boys, Bo and Luke, along with cousins Coy and Vance (in season 5). It is known for its signature horn, its police chases, stunts-especially its long jumps-and for having its doors welded shut, leaving the Dukes to climb in and out through the windows. The car appears in every episode but one ("Mary Kaye's Baby"). The car's name is a reference to American Civil War general Robert E Lee. It bears a Confederate Flag (a rectangular variant of the square battle flag of Lee's on its roof, and also has a horn which plays the first 12 notes of the song "Dixie".

The idea for the General Lee was developed from the bootleggers car Jerry Rushing 's car, which was named for Lee's favorite horse, Traveller. Traveller was also the name of the car in Moonrunners, the 1975 movie precursor to The Dukes Of Hazzard
SPECIFICATIONS

Restoration was finished in California and shipped to Alberta Canada and has been in a car collection last few years. The Chrager began life as a solid and dry 69 Charger that was already in great shape and used as a daily driver before its General Lee transformation. The engine is a rebuilt big block 440 cid V8 mated to a 3 speed automtaic transmission which according to the owner has also been rebuilt. The General runs out great, loads of power, nice aggressive sound thru the dual exhaust. The Dixie horn is great, hit it as your racing down the road! This car turns heads where ever it goes. The interior seats are in good shape, show some minor wear but very presentable as you can see. All other interior components are original. Paint and body is all in very nice shape, gaps seem to fit very well, could use some new weather stripping in the trunk but over car shows well.
