1955 DODGE HALF TON SHOP TRUCK
The story that I got from the previous owner is that this pickup originally came from Central Washington where it was the mechanics truck at a small Dodge dealership. The truck has spent its entire life at various small repair shops in Washington state until it was purchased by the previous owner around 2005. He owned it with plans of restoring it that were never realized. I am told that the truck was recently running when the previous owner started to install a new clutch. That project stalled midstream and the truck has sat since then. The owner recently decided to part ways with the truck when we acquired it.
The truck appears to have the originaly Poly V8 engine and manual 3 speed transmission. The mechanical condition, beyond what has been descrbed above, is unknown. I am going with the assumption that the utility box, if not factory, was installed some time ago and appears to be of the era. The boxes all open, close and latch as they should. The hydraulic hoist in the bed also functions properly. The cab and bed do not have significant rust but there is some minor rust associated with the dents and dings that would be expected. The cab is generally solid and complete. The drivers side door latch does not currently work. Matching set of wheels with a matching spare. The clutch replacement does need finished and the floor cover is missing. The truck does roll and steer easily for loading purposes. Eight track player and CB radio are included.
This truck is a unique piece of automotive history that once built or restored would stand out from the crowd at any car show. Whether it was restored to original or customized and transformed into a unique hot rod or shop truck, this truck is and will be unique.
