1942 Dodge WC54 T214 3/4 Ton US Army Ambulance Military Vehicle
1942 Dodge Other
This is a very nice running, registered on the road and titled vehicle. It's an older restoration that has been maintained. It's NOT a perfect factory correct 100% show winning truck. This truck start, runs and drives great !
It was converted to 12 volt and has rear blinkers added for safety. The lights work but the blackout lights don't.The horn works. The battery is like new. It has a siren but is not hooked up. The two dome lights are missing. The vent fan is not hooked up. It does have all the correct switches on the dash for the fan, dome lights etc. The gauges all work except the fuel gauge. They are not original, they are 12 volt replacements. The speedometer is there but not hooked up.
The engine is a T211 series (should be T214) that was rebuilt and has low miles on it, runs like a top ! It drives and shifts through all of the gears well. The brakes work well and have DOT5 silicone fluid. The rims are from an M37 but the spare is a combat rim so if somebody desired to go back to combat rims, only 3 would be needed. The tires are 90% + rubber. All fluids have been changed recently and I run Rotella in the engine.
The rear step is missing (Midwest Military has them for $375.00) . It has the smaller fuel filler pipe, should have the larger mouth type (NOS at Vintage Power wagons for about $75.00) The passenger side windshield glass has a crack. The body is rust free and has recent fresh paint. The top edges of the roof have some imperfections that had filler put in a little thick when it was restored. Could be sanded and repainted to look better.
The interior has nice comfortable front seats but they are not the correct high backs that would be original. It does have nice rear jumps seats like new, all covered in Beachwood canvas. It has a heater that is not the correct one and is not hooked up. It does have the litter brackets and hangers. It does come with 4 litters.
Basically this is a jump in and drive it where you want truck that you could improve if you wanted to . The only reason it's for sale is that I want a smaller vehicle to take to Normandy next year for the DDay anniversary. If your seriously interested message me for my phone number and we can speak about details on the phone. I'm starting this at a relatively low price considering otherWC54's I've seen that need total restore are running close to 10K .
I will sell it worldwidebut the BUYER is responsible for ALL shipping arrangements and costs. I might be able to POSSIBLY deliver it in the New England area, speak to me about it first. The truck is located in North Conway NH 03860 about 2 hours north of Boston.
I highly encourage you to come and test drive it if possible ! As I said it has current registration and a clear title. I expect a $500.00 deposit from the winning bidder within 24 hours. I do NOT want the full amount paid by paypal. I expect the balance to be paid by cash, bank transfer or some other secure method of payment
