UPDATED: Really nice '48 Desoto S-11 Custom. Runs and drives beautifully, and wherever I go people just love it! The car has what I believe to be 63,000 original miles. Floorpans and trunk floor are solid as a rock, I did find one small rust spot on the inner rocker panel, drivers side, not significant, see photos. Looks and drives great and is very reliable. I have had this car in my good weather daily driver rotation for several years and it just runs great, has never let me down. The fluid drive semi automatic transmission works just as it should. Retro fitted with 6 volt alternator set up, works perfectly. Took it on on several 200+ mile trips in the last few years with no problem. A pleasure to drive. Some combination of original paint and respray, is exceptionally pretty car. NOT a show car...some orange peel to sections of the paint, chrome and bumpers not great( see photos,) engine compartment is not detailed (see photos) nor is the trunk. Good looking new upholstery but probably not 100% correct. A few drops of oil, I never caredenough to chase it down. Restored radio works great and is wired to take youriPhone or MP2 device. Driving this car on a nice day with 1940's musicplaying through theoriginal radio is as close as you're going to get to time travel!
