1973 Datsun Z-Series 240Z

This very original 1973 Datsun 240Z was sold new at Ken Keegan Imported Cars of Los Gatos, California and is powered by a numbers-matching 2.4-liter L24 inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in its original factory applied Cocoa Brown Metallic (114) over tan vinyl, the car features dealer-installed air conditioning, slotted 14″ wheels, and bumper bars. New shifter bushings and hoses have been installed, a dent repair carried out, and side moldings removed. This S30 is located in Virginia with sales paperwork, factory literature, blue California license plates, current Pennsylvania license tags, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.

The car has a no accident history, and no corrosion found in the dog legs, quarter panels, rockers, battery tray, floor pans, spare tire well, glass surrounds and hood. In early 2018 a small dent in the left rear quarter panel above the tail light was repaired and blended to match and is the only non original paint on the car. Several remaining imperfections can be seen in photos..Polished period-style 14″ slotted aluminum wheels are mounted with 205/70 Hankook Optimo H724 tires.
The car retains six-digit blue and yellow California license plates at both ends.The cabin features seats finished in tan upholstery with patterned inserts, which extends to the doors and the diamond-stitched trim on the transmission tunnel and rear strut towers. The upholstery and black carpets are believed original, as are the un-cracked dash, door panels, center console and headliner. Photos in the gallery show the footwells with the black carpeting removed.A stock three-spoke steering wheel fronts a black dashboard which includes factory instrumentation, climate controls, an AM/FM radio, and a dealer-installed air conditioner which does not blow cold. The five-digit odometer shows just under 66k miles, less than 100 of which have been added by the seller.
The 2.4-liter L24 inline-six is equipped with dual Hitachi flat-top carburetors and was rated at 151 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine block number stamping reads 178109, which matches that shown on the data plate in the photos. Several rubber hoses in the engine bay have been replaced including the radiator hoses. Replacement shifter bushings were also installed and an oil change performed under current ownership.The condition of this car is outstanding and one of the most original 240Zs you will find.
