1929 Chrysler Model 75 1 Light Yellow Roadster 249 Cubic Inch 6-Cylinder 3-Spee
1929 Chrysler Model 75 --
In 1929 Chrysler was still a relatively young company, however they managed to make a huge gain in sales from 32nd to 3rd in the matter of only a few years. The huge response to the their Model 75 seemed to be the key. This car vs. the competitors like the Chevrolet or Model A by Ford were still using 4-Cylinder engines that were slow and cumbersome compared to this 75 HP car that came with some bells and whistles... and more resembled the classier and more expensive cars of the era. In fact, the model 75 even went on to secure a 3rd and 4th place positions the 1929 24 Hour of Le Mans and also held its own in the Grueling Mille Miglia in Italy only to be beaten by much more exotic and extremely more expensive European cars. This particular Model 75 is in excellent mechanical driver quality condition with a older restoration. By our guess, we are thinking early 1980's based on the paint condition and color choices. The paint shines remarkable well and has had good long ownership history. The top is still in good condition as are the side curtains that accompany the car along with the original owners manual. The car in the last couple years has received a tune up with fluid flush, brakes and other minor mechanical. I have personally driven this car, which starts, shifts and brakes very well. It is a lot of fun to drive and there are not a lot of these cars out there. It is ready for the touring season. There is also a picture that came out of the Chrysler museum showing Amelia Earhart next to a Series 75 that is claimed to be this car. We have this item and will also accompany the car.
