1969 Chevrolet El Camino
1969 El Camino SS 396/375hp L78. This is a very rare car and especially with the list of factory options. Below is a list:
- 396/375 L78
- Factory Headlight Washer System---I want to believe its one of less than 50 made and only one known to exist.
- Front Bumper Guards
- Gage Package with 6k redline tach
- Tilt Wheel
- AM/FM Stereo
- Air Conditioning
- PS/PB
- Smog air pump system
- 12 Bolt 3:73 rear gear
Its factory Le Mans Blue with original paint side stripe is on the car and believed to be original. At some time it had body work on lower fenders. If you are restoring the car, it will need full restoration including the frame. This car came out of Saginaw Michigan back in 2022. It had been sitting for decades and still had wide oval tires on it when I found the car. It has rust! Frame has rust! Floors have rust, fenders and quarters have rust, doors have rust! So don't ask me for a ton of pictures because guess what---it has rust!I bought the car because I love original paint cars, it was too cool to not put back on the road....sooo I spent money/time getting it back on the road. New Gas Tank and sending unit/New Fuel and Brake lines/New brakes all 4 Corners/New Master Cylinder/New Alternator/New Starter/New Fuel Pump/ 4 New Radial Tires. All fluids were changed etc... I drive it weekly in Southern California and have put roughly 4k miles on it during last 2 1/2 years. It runs and drives excellent. Transmission shifts like new. If you're looking to enjoy an old El Camino and drive as is then you would love this car. Gets lots of attention.Original 375 hp engine was replaced who knows when. I actually thought the 396/350 hp in the car was original because its been in the car that long and looks 100% untouched under the hood. All the AC is in place and compressor clicks on. Factory air pump car with all in place. Factory Harrison 4 core radiator. It looks factory. The carb is dated 1969 350 hp/automatic. I had the carb rebuilt professionally and it has amazing throttle response. Like I said, I thought it was an original engine car till I looked one day and realized it had a 6k tach. Thats when I scraped the top of the deck and realized it is a CE Warranty Replacement engine. But it makes sense to be a L78 since it has the heavy duty trans and the 3:73 gear plus 4 core radiator. Can you imagine the idiot that accepted a 350 replacement for the original 375 hp. Only thought is it belonged to a GM Exec hence the options and he perhaps blew it up and the factory installed the CE engine?!?!?! Car is located in Carlsbad California (San Diego). It is available to inspect etc... I will assist with loading etc. but shipping is responsibility of buyer. I do know an amazing transport broker and I will share his information upon request. Please note: I will not accept payment through Ebay unless buyer pays the stupid fees. All payments must be wire transfer or in cash.If you want to discuss, message me your phone number and I will call you.Last, I'm a car guy! I have 100% feedback with exception of one time. I sold my dads 84 Cadillac that had sat for 28 yrs in dry climate controlled storage Car was perfect. The buyer emailed me outside ebay months after receiving car claiming I sold him a rusty car and if I didn't send him money then he would leave negative feedback. I refused and reported him to Ebay--they did crap to protect me. I go to sell another car months later and the guy leaves negative feedback saying I was a liar. Im honest and shouldn't have to explain myself but decided to share my wonderful experience. Deposit of $500 due within 24 hrs end of auction. It is non-refundable.
