1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS 396/350 Cowl Induction Original Paint West Coast
1970 Chevrolet El Camino
1970 El Camino SS 396/350 hp w factory Cowl Induction. It was parked sometime in 80's sitting inside an airport hanger and remained till found in 2023. Odometer shows 51k miles and his kids said that would be original since he didn't use the vehicle too often. I've been into El Camino's for years, finding excellent examples to restore are getting rare! Especially for 1970 This is a original west coast car still titled in original owners name. If you're looking for a Camino to restore then you just found the perfect candidate for frame off rotisserie. BODY: The car only has small rust on each quarter on the bottom corner (See Pictures). Floors are like new, smuggler box is like new, bed is basically scraped up only. The passenger fender has a NOS and included is also a NOS Drivers fender. Doors are mint. Original silver paint remains on 95% of the car. The original owner did some minor sratch repair using a rattle can primer as seen in pics. Tailgate has no rust and bottom is excellent. No dents or damage. The original front bumper has been removed and rechromed plus I bought an original 70 rear bumper core and had that rechromed as wellI removed the carper and gas tank trying to find the build sheet but no luck. You'll see in picture of back the gas tank strap hanging down. I just didn't bolt it up yet.Frame: Like NewInterior: Seat is shown and will need recovering. Original carper is included but worn by drivers side pedals. Dash pad is excellent, no cracks. Non gage package. AM Radio. Door panels are excellent but they has speakers installed probably back in 70's.Drivetrain: The original block was replaced with a 1972 396 short block. The heads/intake/carb/riser/air cleaner are original to car. By the amount of grime on the engine I'm going to assume this was done in 70's. I did purchase a CE 396/350 engine (see Pictures) complete with Dec 69 build date which is not included but I will sell separate to buyer or after car is sold. NOTE: It would be included in BUY it NOW. Plan was to use the short block since the dates fall perfect within warranty limits for 1970. The engine is complete so can be used as complete or used the original heads/intake. Transmission is original as is the 12 bolt rearend with 3:31 gears Factory exhaust manifolds are on the engine in car. I did get the engine in the car running but did not put gas in fuel tank. Only ran when using gas down carb. Have never driven the car. Radiator and shroud etc all original. PS/PB disc brake car.I bought this car to do a frame off restore. Only selling to make room for another car I recently purchased so decided to let the Camino go. A factory Silver/Black stripe cowl induction car is beautiful when restored. I've bought every NOS emblem for the car minus the fender SS which are readily available. I even have a rare complete set of NOS wheel well mouldings and most of the trim in NOS. NOS door edge guards and on and on. Have complete set of AO code wheels. I'm located in San Diego, car is available to view by appointment. If you have any questions, please ask. My feedback is always 100% with exception to selling my dads cadillac several years ago and the buyer trying to scam me out of money months after purchasing the car. It was also stored in a climate controlled building for 28 years! I won't deal with scammers, I felt horrible being it was my dads car who willed it to me when he died in 94. Scam didn't work so he felt compelled to leave negaitive feedback Showed all the evidence to ebay and they do crap for the seller. I'm just an honest car guy that loves cars. Embarrassed but I know who I am so sucks I have to explain but so be it.If you purchase the car. I will only accept wire transfer or cash. Ebay charges crazy fees to pay through them. If you want to use ebay then you will pay the additional fees on top of the final purchase price.Deposit of $500 must be paid within 24 hours and is non-refundable. Shipping is responsibility of buyer. I will assist with loading etc and all parts would be in the interior. If you buy with the CE engine then that will be crated and strapped in bed. I do have an amazing trucking broker that is the best in the market and delivers 1st class and great pricing. I'd be more than happy to share his information.
