Description:

1964 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Up for sale is my 1964 Chevrolet Bel Air, 4-door sedan, 283 cu. in.V-8 engine, powerglide 2-speed automatic transmission, 26,269 miles, black & white exterior color w/parchment color vinyl interior and black rubber mat floor covering, factory no A/C car, factory manual steering car, factory manual brakes car, no radio. Originally born as a 6-cylinder car and then transplanted with a 283 at some point in its earlier life. Also originally a Virginia car for most of its early life (vintage dated stickers on windshield and front license plate tell some of the history). I have owned the car for many years as did a friend of mine for many years before that. At what point the car was outfitted with the police appearance and equipment package or its history of original use as a municipal vehicle, is unknown.

VIN: 4 15 69 S 310841

The car is in beautiful condition though, dutifully garaged and taken out only in nice weather, well maintained and an unbelievable attention getter. The car was professionally repainted many years ago and still possesses a great appearance like you would expect from a car that was used in service and not overly restored thereafter. The paint looks great on a clean and straight body, shines nicely with very few noticeable blemishes (see pictures). The exterior door graphics are hand painted like they were years ago. The police equipment, electronics and lights appear to be period correct and functional. The interior, trunk and engine areas are in nice condition. Seat belts were added/modified for passenger travel.

The mechanics of the car are in excellent condition. The car runs and drives nice and strong. Engine starts up quiet, shifts and drives great on local roads and on the highway. Tires are good and mounted on 15-inch steel wheels with good 4-wheel drum brakes. The dual exhaust has a rumble to it but not overly loud. Engine/trans drip a few drops of oil if allowed to sit for longer periods, brakes could use re-adjustment.

Chrome and stainless are in great condition, not perfect, but with a good shine (see pictures). The underside of the car is solid with older undercoating (see pictures).
