1959 Chevy Viking/like Apache 3100No Reserve - Clean Kansas TitleYouTube link to video of it running (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gn7MZoLUNRo ) or search Cort's 1959 VikingIf you have been looking for the perfect truck to catch people's eyes for your small business - this might be the one for you. Or for your small working farm, or just to enjoy driving or put in parades. In my opinion the '58 & 59' Chevy trucks, with the dual headlights are some of the most beautiful trucks ever made, and this one is a good running, solid example.Like most of my trucks, this one came from a farm here in Kansas, and still bears its original dealership emblem (Davis Child) from when it was sold new in 1959 in Hutchinson, Kansas. The odometer shows 52k miles, and while I cannot say that is correct, it appears to be - judging by overall wear on the truck . It is very solid, and mostly straight, although there is a dent on right fender. This truck was well cared for, but it was a workhorse used on the farm. This truck has the durable and powerful 261 inline 6 engine. It starts and runs great, does have a small exhaust leak. Good oil pressure, no smoke or strange noises. It also has a 2 speed rear diff, and power brakes that work well. The tires are old, but all in pretty good shape.Obviously, if you looked at the pics or video, it also has a PTO driven hydraulic dump bed, and it works perfectly. The bed is all steel, except the floor, which was wood, and was getting rotten. The previous owner pulled out the old wood to replace, but never got to it. It simply needs 2x boards laid down and screwed in, or you could use metal, whichever you prefer- either option would be very easy. This truck starts, runs, drives, and stops like it should - however - it did set for several years before I acquired it, so plan to do a good service and check over when you get it. The headlights turn on, but I have not messed with any other lights, it needs hood springs, as you have to hold the hood up, things like that. These Vikings have become more popular the last few years, and are getting harder to come by and more expensive, especially for solid runners, so don't wait too long if you have been looking for one! Please call or text Cort at 620-786-5172 with any questions, Also - please check my feedback from lots of old trucks sold here - no disappointments. Also, I hauled this home on an 18ft trailer with a 2ft dovetail and it hauled very nice, with a little overhang - just to give you an idea. And I am fine with truck setting here until you arrange transport as long as it's paid for - Thanks and good luck!
