1950 Chevrolet Other Pickups Pickup
This 1950 Pick up, 3/4 ton HD, was first purchased by my wife's grandfather in Iowa, in 1950 (may be a late 1949 as I go through the differences, vin number listed above), drove it from Iowa to southern California with his wife and three daughters. It's lived a tough life, first a contractor truck, he was a plasterer, then it was a ranch truck, then a grocery getter until it ended up in the back forty for the last twenty years. It was running until then but later became a project of my wife's nephew who had little mechanical background but a lot of energy; some engine components went missing.
The truck hasn't been registered since 1971, original owners name (grandfather) will still be on the title. My wife's nephew lost the title, and the last registration paperwork, so your need to follow DMV processes if you intend to register it.
You'll also see that there is a "more modern" front clip in bed and I believe that it's a 1970 from a Nova, or Chevy II, which I've been told it a compatible replacement if turning into something other than a restoration and will be included along with a transmission lift/stand, rolling cart-stand, a chrome grill (which it didn't come with), and several of the engine components that had been pulled by the nephew. It's still wired a a six volt, and not a project for me so its time to let someone else run with it. Casters are not included. front left tire (innertube) will hold air for loading on trailer but does have a leak.
