Vehicle Information
I built this car for handling the mountains. Then I moved to the coast.
The car is an unbelievable shade of dark blue. The paint looks almost black in the garage and then turns the richest blue metallic in the sunlight. The paint is loaded with metal flake, but subtle metal flake, not like a bass boat. Have a close look at the photos. It’s gorgeous and gets thumbs up everywhere.
The Z/28 stripes are a gunmetal grey. I used this shade as the color to powder coat the front split and rear bumpers. It’s a great match. On the front I mounted Hella LED driving lights for that Trans-Am racing look; they have removable amber covers and are positioned where the blinkers are on the RS versions. Hood pins with red wire finish the front end. Very cool.
Engine, transmission, and clutch are in excellent condition. Super reliable and starts up very easily, sounds great and loves to rev.
Dash, carpet, headliner, console, door panels, seats all in excellent condition. Never smoked in; no strange smells (except octane, and victory). New gas tank and new battery. Car is very quick but not ultra-fast. Stopping power is like an M3. I have taken a few road trips in it. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across country. Seriously.
If stance is important to you, this car is second to none. The work has been done short of an LS swap, if that’s what you want to do with it (I don’t).
Modifications include:
Sport Seats - cloth textile with suede inserts, subtle red stitching, new shoulder belts installed
Momo steering wheel with two horn buttons I choose Momo because remember, GM built the Camaro as a “European sports coupe”
Custom instrument panel in powder coated aluminum
Pro Comp gauges with silver faces and orange pointers
Speedo and tach illuminated in white LED / Surrounding 4 gauges illuminated in blue LED
Detroit Speed (have all receipts):
New rear leaf springs, 3” drop, new shocks (Speed Kit 1)
New front coilovers with tubular A-arms, new shocks (Speed Kit 2)
New power steering gear w/tighter turning ratio
New front service kit
New front sway bar
Global West subframe connectors
Wilwood 6-piston front brakes, drilled/slotted, red calipers
Wilwood 4-piston rear brakes, drilled/slotted, red calipers
Ridler 18” wheels with cool rims – brushed not polished
Nitto tires staggered front / rear
1200 miles on build
Seller’s Note –
There are some things that need attention, but nothing stopping the car from performing.
The window seals need replacing, and the passenger window crank needs a knob. The side view mirrors are actually black but very hard to notice.
The armrests on the doors are actually wooden (don’t ask me, they work well but look out of place).
High beam switch doesn’t switch.
