6,425 miles since the body off frame restoration. We have a photo album showing the process. Genuine Bel Air, desirable 2 door hardtop.
EXTERIOR: Beautiful color combination, very rich and classy burgundy with champagne metallic. The body is not showing signs of rust or damage. The panels fit nicely. The paint is super glossy. It has a few imperfections but shows really well. The chrome is very impressive, a strong point on this car. Upfront the grill bumper, bumper guards, headlight bezels, emblem, hood ornament have all been replaced. The stainless moldings down the sides look new. All the stainless around the tops of the doors and windows were replaced. The vent window pillars, mirrors, door handles and even the wipers look new. In back it is all new, they are the shiniest 56 taillights I've seen. Good original glass. Door jambs are painted nicely, has new weather strips. 15 inch rally wheels are painted that same champagne color, they have all new trim and spinner center. White letter BFGoodrich tires.
INTERIOR: Custom interior done to match the exterior. Two tone pleated upholstery on the seats, the rear deck and the door panels. Headliner was replaced. The dash area is beautiful. It's painted like the exterior and is super glossy. All the chrome trim sparkles like new. The steering wheel was restored. It does have a nice vintage style tachometer on the column and a gauge cluster below the dash. Upgraded retro stereo and 6x9 speakers in back. Carpets were replaced, has embroidered floor mats. Window cranks, door handles, armrests were replaced. Kick panels are reupholstered. Exceptionally nice inside, comfortable too.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: According to the casting numbers on the side of the block it is a GM crate 350 motor. On top of the motor it has an aluminum intake and Edelbrock carb. Sharp looking matched set of chrome valve covers and air cleaner. chrome alternator, bracket, timing chain cover and pulleys. Features include electric wipers, power steering and power brakes. Runs cool with polished stainless hoses, aluminum radiator with a giant chrome electric fan in front and the stock fan in back. The radiator support is chrome. Chrome battery tray and hold down brackets. The power brake system looks new.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is painted glossy champagne color on the sides and under the lid. The back of the seat has pleated upholstery. It has a custom made tire cover over the spare. New original style rubber mat on the floor. Weatherstrip still looks new. There is an assembly manual and some custom taillight lenses with bowties in the middle.
UNDERSIDE:The body was off the frame, the body bushings were replaced. Looking up at the motor it's very clean. The power steering control valve system has been replaced. The manual shift three speed has electric overdrive. The fuel tank is new. Great sounding dual exhaust system with glass pack mufflers. Upgraded with disc breaks in front. New shocks. The floors look very solid.
This Bel Air has a look. The camera man kept telling me to raise the price after making the video. It's a sharp looking, comfortable car. I think I'll take it home today, I want to shift those gears!
