1965 Chevrolet C-10
You can't go wrong with a handsome older pickup in traditional colors, but this 1965 Chevrolet C10 is actually more of a wolf in sheep's clothing. The lovely white and powder-blue paint scheme may be a bit tame, but this isn't some six cylinder grocery-getter. Instead, you get a powerful 350 V8 under the hood, a comfortable A/C interior, and enough curb appeal to attract vintage truck fans from all walks of life. Better yet, it's priced to move fast. Take a closer look but don't hesitate, because this one won't last long.A clean old pickup in classic colors and wearing a stepside bed makes for an appealing package, regardless of the powerplant inside. We'll go out on a limb and suggest that there aren't many of these trucks running around today that have been this nicely restored, and the point was to keep everything low-key enough that the truck still looks very close to what it looked like in 1965. The light blue paint is just perfect on a vehicle from the mid-60s and with the contrasting white roof, it has an old-school truck look that's ideal. Finish quality is quite nice, with good gaps, smooth panels, and an overall look of higher-end driver quality that holds up under scrutiny. The finish shines up beautifully and they kept all the wonderful details that make these trucks special, including the flying wing trim on the back of the cab and they even strapped a bright red jerry can to the driver's side bed-step. The flared fenders of the stepside bed give it a muscular crouch and the bed inside is neatly finished with heavy-duty spray-in liner on the side panels to go with the oak wood floor, so you don't have to be afraid to use it as intended once in a while. A brightly polished grille, matching chrome bumpers, and CHEVROLET block letters on the tailgate all make for an appealing package, and the upgraded headlights light up the road much better than the original units.
They kept the theme of the interior fairly stock, too, although a few choice upgrades inside have really made things much more comfortable inside. We love the bench seat with matching blue-and-white vinyl cover that looks like a perfect match to the exterior paint, and the handsome two-tone details are a nice complement to the bright bodywork. All new Dolphin gauges inside an updated chrome bezel are wonderful addition, and the tach and auxiliary dials suggest that maybe there's something going on under the hood, but the install is subtle enough to go unnoticed, keeping the classic spirit of the truck intact. Keeping with that thought, the original steering wheel with its cool horn ring was retained, although it's now mounted on a tilt column, and other upgraded options include an R134a A/C system and an upgraded AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit that make things much more comfortable on long cruises. Black carpets are an obvious step-up from the original rubber mats, but again, this truck isn't about showing off the wonders of modern technology, it's about the delicate balance of sticking to the original script during an upgraded restoration. And we have to say, the builders of this C-10 pulled things off wonderfully.
In the 1960s, there was only one engine you wanted under the hood of your cruiser, and that was a small block Chevy. This one displaces 350 cubic inches and was borrowed from a later-model GM, so it was built to run. Dressed to impress, this strong-running small block features Chevy Orange paint to give it a bright contrast, matching finned valve covers, a black open-element air cleaner, and while it wasn't necessarily built for show, it has a very clean and functional look that suits this vintage truck just fine. A modern alternator, aluminum radiator, power steering, power front disc brakes, and R134a refrigerant in the A/C system make it easy to drive and maintain, while a 4-barrel carb and performance intake help build horsepower. It has an awesome rumble thanks to long-tube headers that feed into the dual exhaust with chambered mufflers that sing a nice baritone snarl when you dip into the throttle. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeds a 10-bolt rear end so it's certainly reliable, and the entire undercarriage is very solid and presentable. Finishing the look, this slick C10 sits on paint-matched steelies adorned with white Bowtie hubcaps, and they've all been wrapped with 215/75/15 whitewall radials that look awesome.
Documented with maintenance records and owner's manuals, this nicely restored '65 Chevy represents a ton of value for the investment. But as you might expect, good deals never last long. Call today!
