Description:

1971 Chevrolet Corvette #'s matching, 454 LS5

BACK STORY:

FULL DISCLOSURE: I am selling this for a senior friend of mine who is not an Ebay seller, but I am a former appraiser, former shop owner as well as dedicated gear head. I will be handling this sale, answer questions and assist with the load out and meet & work with YOUR transporter. You can message me to chat by phone. The car will need to be picked up in Easton, CT. 06611.

My friend bought the car new in 1971, he owned a popular Connecticut repair shop in Norwalk, CT and bought this car as a Sunday / fun driver. Since he had dealer/repair plates, he would plate the Corvette when driven therefore the car was NEVER registered with normal state plates. He drove the car VERY sparingly throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's and around 2000, put it into garage storage and retired from the auto repair business. The car sat garaged until 2018, when it was driven out (under it's own power) and parked where you see it now, next to the garage. Last started and ran fall of 2018. The owner has all the paperwork for when he purchased the car new, and has boxes of parts (the removed trim, bumpers, etc) and all are included with the sale.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- 1971 Corvette Numbers matching 454/365 big block and a 4 speed!!

- TRUE 1 owner (original owner) car with 30,565 original miles

- A 100% straight car, no accidents, never beat on, original paint, radio and never modified or messed with, really an ORIGINAL specimen

BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this Corvette is very straight, seems like the original bonding strips are in place. This car is the perfect vehicle to either freshen up to be a survivor OR fully restore into a mint show car that would have only 30k miles. Some light body repair work was started many years ago to remove stress & age cracks and then it was left as is. It has original paint in place, Sunflower Yellow, 1 of 1,177 made in this color in 1971.

ENGINE / CHASSIS OVERVIEW: The car has its original LS5 454 big block and original 4spd transmission. While it last ran in 2018, I, nor the owner have NOT attempted to start the car this year. The chassis underneath is good but surface rust is present all over from the 16 months of being parked on the grass next to the garage. Spare tire still in place, nothing has been modified or changed.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The saddle interior is in fair shape shape and is showing its age, but all of it is original and in place including the original radio. Missing trim is included and the dashboard, gauges and steering wheel are in fair to good condition for their age.

NOTES: The car will need a serious restoration and can't be driven home but has more potential than any car I have seen the last few years. This auction has NO RESERVE. My name is Jan and you can message me your phone # and I can try to answer any questions you may have. The car is complete and it what it is, if you know Corvettes, then you know what you are looking at. The BUYER will have to arrange and pay for all shipping. I can / will meet your shipper and assist with loading as well as introduce the new buyer to the original owner after we agree on a sale (and pay the $500 deposit).
