Description:

1964 Chevrolet Corvette

1964 CORVETTE COUPE A Southern California car that would be best be categorized as a high quality driver . It has Vintage Air conditioning and power steering. It has the original numbers matching engine, transmission and differential. It is titled and registered in my name with California black license plates (not the new aluminum retro plates).

VIN: 40837S110254

Engine# 4110254 FOI23RC date code A134 (Jan 13 1964)

Trim #490G = red vinyl Paint #923A= Riverside Red

BODY & PAINT: The body is very straight and smooth with good fitment of the doors and hood. This Corvette hashad a high-end repaint (base coat/clear coats) in its original color, Riverside Red. The paint is about 15 years old but doesn’t show its’ age since it has always been garaged. Paint is very brilliant, smooth and glossy and gets great compliments. There are some minor blemishesin the paint but they do not detract from the overall appearance.

All the chrome, stainless trim and emblems are excellent; brilliant with no corrosion or pitting.

INTERIOR: The entire dashboard, including the dash covering, gauges as well as the console and steering wheel look excellent. The door panels and carpet are also very nice. The wind wings and windows operate properly. Window felts and rubber weather-strip moldings are excellent. The driver’s seat had a small split at a seam that was professionally repaired.

ENGINE is the original 327that matches the VIN with date code A134 (Jan 13, 1964). It has the correct intake manifold, carburetor, air cleaner and breathers. Recently, a new camshaft, lifters and water pump were installed. The cam is street friendly with specs similar to the 350 H.P. factory cam. The carburetor was also rebuilt at this time. All work done at Classic Auto Works, Oceano, CA (have receipt).

A Pertronix Igniter II ignition replaces the points in the same distributor as an upgrade. Original parts retained. The distributor shield and spark plug shields are installed.

TRANSMISSION is original and numbers match to VIN. It has a Hurst shifter that works smoothly throughout the gears. Gear oil is full and clean.

CLUTCH. Pressure plate, flywheel and throw-out bearing all new within the last 200 miles andoperates smoothly with no chatter. Receipt provided (Classic Auto Works).

DIFFERENTIAL is the original positraction with 3:36 - 1 ratio. Numbers on differential housing are CB-1 (3:36-1) and 14-64. Gear oil with positraction supplement is full and clean.

BRAKES & STEERING: New front brake shoes and wheel cylinders recently done within the last 200 miles.Rear brakes and parking brake are good and no service needed. All brake fluid flushed and replaced with new. Car stops straight and true withvery little pedal pressure. Power steering works correctly with no leaks.

MISCELLANEOUS DETAILS:

Safety items: lights, turn signals, parking brake, horn, windshield wipers all work properly. There is a scuff mark from wiper rubber on the windshield that is not obvious and does not impair view. Headlight doors operate up and down properly as they should.

Wheels are 17” American Torque Thrust.

Tires are 225/55R17 Goodyear Eagle GT.

The license plates have not been restored or repainted.

The original factory AM/FM radio has been replaced with a more modern but semi-original appearing unit.

Speedometer checked with GPS and is very close to true speed. The mileage listed is theodometer reading at the time of this ad.
