How about something that brings back memories of you and your Little League team packed in the back while Mom or Dad drove you to and from games? This 1989 Chevrolet G20 Conversion Van may be just the ticket; it's a one-family owned van since new and has only 31,813 miles on the clock! Made in GM's Scarborough, Canada factory, the previous owner's parents bought it new from Brown Chevrolet-Buick in Wilkes County, North Carolina and their son inherited it in 2015. When purchased new, the folks used the van for a couple of cross country trips then kept it garaged. After Mom's passing the van was gifted to their son.Finished in Dark Garnet Red (code 77) with mauve trim, the van's paint and trim are in overall very good order with minor blemishes visible at the right rear corner. The van's bodywork is solid and straight; its engine bay is tidy, the battery is new and the chrome bumpers are in very good order. This van rolls on Dunlop Pioneer tires, size P235/75R15 at all four corners. Each tire is mounted to an original Rally steel wheel. The tires and wheels are all in good, original condition. This van has a 125-inch wheelbase and a 33-gallon fuel tank.Under the hood is a 5.7L V-8 engine (code L05) buttoned to a Turbo Hydramatic 700R4 four-speed automatic with a 3.08:1 rear end. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, front and rear, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, power window and power locks. The air-conditioning system was converted to R-134a refrigerant on April 23, 2013. Since the previous owner acquired it, the transmission's been serviced, the fuel pump was rebuilt and the heater core was repaired. The radiator was replaced in 2017.Inside, there are four captain's chairs upholstered in mauve and gray cloth that recline, swivel and have fold-down arms. In back is a fold-down bench seat. While there is a minor blemish in the seat bottom fabric of the driver's seat, all of the seats are in otherwise very good order. The corresponding carpet is clean and has held up well. To complement the gray and mauve cloth, there are Dark Maple wood trim pieces throughout the cabin. Amid the four captain's chairs is a card table with four cupholders. The table can also be installed between the rear bench and the rear two captain's chairs. The two-spoke, Custom steering wheel is in very good order and the instrument panel features full instrumentation along with typical controls from the period. The instrument panel and inner door liners are all in very good shape. Other features under that high roof include a period television and video cassette recorder and a Cobra Citizens' Band Radio all inoperable. Curtains, a rear clothes rack, cabinets and cubby holes are also found inside. A factory Delco-Bose AM/FM stereo with cassette deck completes the interior.One-off, individualized customizations and even mass produced, highly sought-after customizations became highly desirable and the custom van culture was born. In the later 1980s, raised/custom roof executive styled custom packages were installed in an unprecedented number of vans and the custom van culture overnight was transformed into the "gotta have it" vehicle of the late '80s. These custom creations were excellent for moving large groups of people from one place to the next in luxury. Plush, thick pile carpeting, velour, high-quality leathers, convertible bench seats and pivoting and reclining captain's chairs, televisions, game consoles and video playback equipment such as VCRs and DVDs were added to entertain the passengers on long trips. This era gave rise to the modern limousine and limo-vans of today and multiple, modern, camper innovations and creations as well.Competition to this Chevy conversion van in 1989 included similar conversions of Ford's E-250 and Dodge's Ram 250 Vans, along with GMC G20 vans.If conversion vans from the end of the "go-go" 1980s appeal to you or if you're craving a bit of rolling nostalgia from your childhood or teen years, you should stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars to check out this Chevy van.VIN: 2GBEG25K6K4120483This van is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 31,814 miles which is understood to be actual by the one family owned account. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
