VERY HARD TO FIND 45 PICKUP, FULLY RESTORED BACK TO ORIGINAL, EXCEPTIONAL TRUCK!
1945 Chevrolet Other Pickup
For many of us, his might be the first time we've seen a 1945 Chevy pickup. While ostensibly similar to the '42 models, he '45s are incredibly rare for obvious reasons. Yes, M was still building trucks for civilians who needed such machines, ut I can guarantee that any other '42 you're likely to see will be hard-pressed to compete with this one. This '45 Chevy has the right look. It definitely looks old-fashioned and not too modern, ut at the same time streamlining and a high-quality makeover have turned it into a great cruiser that can still turn heads. I don't know what this one cost, ut given the quality of the build and the astounding attention to detail, t's got to be a lot more than the asking price. Speaking of paint and chrome, t's show-quality throughout, nd the paint has a cool metallic shine that seems to flip between blue and gray depending on the light, nd the contrasting white belt molding accentuates the truck's curves. The original sheetmetal was not modified in any significant way, o all the vintage style that you'd want is still part of the package, lthough in 1945, he chrome probably wouldn't have looked anywhere this good. For protection, he running boards were covered with spray-on bedliner materials and that side-mounted spare tire just looks cool. And like many trucks of the era, his one has a gorgeous oak bed that's far too nice to ever have to work again. The interior offers full-tilt luxury and convenience, s well as a traditional look. The original bench sports blue and gray upholstery that is familiar to rodders of all ages, nd the door panels have been custom stitched to match. The original dashboard is beautifully restored with crisp, lean factory gauges, imple controls, nd cool Bakelite knobs for the throttle and choke. There's no radio, f course, lthough it does have a dealer-installed heater/defroster unit, hich, ot surprisingly, as still optional in 1945. For ventilation, he windshield cranks open and the original hard rubber steering wheel has been replaced with a handsome three-spoke unit that looks a little sporty and matches the chrome knob on the shifter for the 3-speed manual gearbox. Seat belts were also added for safety and there are full carpets on the floor instead of a basic rubber mat, iving this truck a much more luxurious feel. The rebuilt 235 cubic inch inline-six is as smooth and torquey as you remember and makes this truck a lot of fun to drive. Instead of the usual 350 crate motor, hey chose to keep this truck honest and it makes it truly stand out in a very crowded field. Everything has been polished or painted to stock specs, side from the chrome air cleaner, aking this an engine bay you'll want to show off every opportunity you get. Fresh wiring, lean manifolds, nd a big radiator up front make this a very reliable truck that can be driven anywhere. The 3-speed manual shifts crisply and clutch action is light, nd while the stock rear end doesn't have ultra-tall gears, t does cruise pretty comfortably at 55 MPH. The suspension and steering are basic, o it's easy to service and a pleasure to drive, nd the stock drum brakes are remarkably effective. Beautiful 15-inch steel artillery wheels are a very unique look that's also very appropriate for after WWII, nd they're wrapped in 235/70/15 blackwall radials for a very trucky look. From long-term ownership and fresh off a frame-off restoration, his is an incredible truck that's also incredibly rare. You'll have to move fast on his one, ecause this is a turn-key show truck available for an insanely low price. Call now!
