1985 Chevrolet CorvetteOffered for sale is my son's first car. Sadly, it was also his first wreck. We found him a beautiful 1985 Corvette with only about 66,000 original miles on it. I live in Florida and he lives in Colorado. He was a new driver but felt he was up to a cross-country trip. Well, he wasn't. He misinterpreted a signal light he never seen before and cut in front of someone and ended up getting hit in the right side just in front of the right rear wheel.
I am embedding a video of the car showing it running and moving. It might take a bit for me to figure out how to do that so if you do not see the video then just copy and paste the below linky.
The accident happened in Nashville Tennessee and I sent a car carrier to bring the car home. I set it up to be winched because I didn't know if it was could self-load. Turned out that it was able to self-load just fine and can be driven short distances readily. I mean just enough to load or unload.
I brought it here to Miami hoping that we could fix it but I believe the damage is too extensive for my resources. It looks like the main frame rail, that arches up to form a roll cage, was hit on the right side. Probably dented. That is just my guess from looking at the way the car looks. I didn't do any disassembly.
The engine runs strong, as could be expected. The interior is clean except the rear area underneath the broken rear hatch. I had it covered but that's still sustained some sun and light water damage.
The vehicle is offered for repair or perhaps just for parts. I'm not interested in parting it out. Take the whole thing and good luck with it! It could really be a nice car if you can repair it. I do know someone in the car carrier broker business that gave me a very good rate bringing it here and I could hook you up with him.
It has a clean Florida title but the buyer will need to do a double title transfer because we never titled it in our name. My son was going to do that when he got to Colorado. No big deal but the buyer will be responsible for the extra cost of that.
Any questions, just shoot me a message through eBay and I will respond promptly. You may or may not be aware, but sales on vehicles on eBay are non-binding. I ask for a deposit I will refund the deposit in full if you come and see the car and don't want it. If you don't bother to come see it, then we will work something else out in the way of a partial refund.
