1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 Tribute

This is the kind of muscle car that commands attention. It's an amazingly bright red 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS tribute coupe with a performance-built 454 big block growling from under the hood. So it has the look and the sound to turn heads, whether it's across the show field or just at a stoplight. Cranberry Red with black SS stripes - you sure aren't sneaking around when you take this one out on the streets. But it takes... more than just investing in upgraded and glossy paint to make a superior muscle car. Chevelles of this era have that perfectly balanced design of being both sleek and muscular at the same time, and there's nothing more beautiful than a classic that emphasizes both areas. The chrome bumpers are new and super bright, as is all of the complete and correct trim, including the added wheel moldings. This shiny elegance is balanced by the aggressive elements like the painted-on SS stripes and the power bulge of the cowl induction hood. Panels and gaps are great, and all the doors shut firmly with that steel authority you can only expect from classic American steel. The finish is deep and has a great shine, but this is no trailer queen, this Chevelle was built to get out and terrorize the neighborhood. Inside, that same premium and aggressive feeling continues. It starts with the dark as midnight interior, and it's always great when the exterior stripes are a preview of the color inside. Plus, you get all the factory-correct bright accent touches to add a little pop to the interior. The bucket seats are the true symbol of a bruiser-style muscle car, and they're split up front by a custom console that houses a desirable horseshoe shifter. Code 706 Black Elk is this Chevelle's original spec, and what's inside the car today could very well be the car's original upholstery, as the minor wear and patina are indicative of a nicely preserved interior. The dash is free of cracks, the SS door panels are all there, and the plush carpets have likely been replaced because they're in great shape. Somewhat cloudy gauges could maybe use some new lenses, but enthusiasts will notice that the bezel is correct for an SS, even though we are marketing this car as a tribute with the absence of a build sheet. An aftermarket AM/FM/CD player provides the tunes, and a tilt wheel adds more space for taller drivers. Out back the trunk is nicely restored and features a vinyl mat and space saver spare tire. This is the kind of motor that will make you proud to lift the hood at car shows. After all, everyone loves the sight of a big block V8 filling in all that space in the engine bay. The setup is tidy and clean with its bright Chevy Orange block, chrome valve covers, and shining open-element air topper replete with period-correct decals. This particular 454 V8 it has also been enhanced with performance features like a Holley 750CFM four-barrel double-pumper carburetor, an aluminum intake, and a growling Flowmaster dual exhaust fed from those thick long-tube headers. It's a true street-eating machine, but that's not the whole picture. The V8 has been treated to good maintenance like an HEI system, alternator, and water pump, so it's smoother than many other big blocks. Underneath is stock and very solid, showing off a life lived easy and away from harsh climate conditions. Plus, there's a TH400 automatic transmission, power steering, and power front disc brakes that work together to enhance the driver's experience. The look is finished with staggered American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels wrapped in 245/40/18 front and 275/35/20 rear blackwall radials. This is a Chevelle SS tribute that has the power and poise you demand. So, don't let this turn-key icon slip away, call today!
