1961 Chevrolet Apache C40 1-1/4 ton dually farm truck with 12' flatbed body. 235 CID inline Chevy stove-bolt 6 cylinder engine; cast iron 4 speed Muncie transmission with creeper first gear; single speed rear, ratio unknown; 157" wheelbase; 14,000 lb. GVW; 12 foot long non-dumping oak floor flatbed body by Perfection Steel Body Company of Galion, Ohio. My father bought this truck from a neighboring farm in 1987 and used it sparingly to fetch feed and hay for our dairy goats. It has been stored in our tractor barn for the past 30+ years. With a carburetor overhaul and a fuel system cleaning plus a minor tuneup and a new battery, it now starts easy and runs very steady and quiet; currently it is fueled from a pony tank. It does drive on the farm but is not road-worthy as-is because the brakes are not functional; the fluid has long ago leaked away. The body does have the typical rust expected on an almost 60 year old farm truck; the front fenders, hood, doors, rocker panels and floorboards all need attention. The frame, cab and bed are all solid and the glass is all good. The paint is not original as the green color in the door jambs is somewhat darker than the exterior. The interior is worn and dirty as expected of a farm truck but everything is present. The truck retains its original 235 L-6 Stove-Bolt engine and there is a limited amount of service history available for the truck. The truck has 115,000 documents miles and I have a clear PA title in my name. I am located 2 miles east of Kempton in eastern PA. Please don't expect to drive this truck home. We have tractors available to assist in loading if necessary but the buyer will be responsible to arrange any shipping. A deposit of $200.00 through PayPal will be required to close the sale; the balance will be payable upon pickup or prior to buyer-arranged shipping.
