1956 Chevrolet Nomad Restoration Project
1956 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Nomad
Up for auction is a 1956 Chevrolet Belair Nomad restoration project. This is a "barn find" that I found tucked away since it was brought to Canada in 1993 from North Carolina. The owner was not well and could not see his dream through.Yes it needs rust repair. If you are interested we can send you pictures of any part you want to see! Almost every part we have is original parts for restoration, with a few repop items acquired. This 1956 Nomad is a v8 auto car, black/ivory two tone originally sold in North Carolina, imported 25 years ago with a clean US title. It was a lifelong dream that didn't see its ending, but amassed a huge collection of parts. This car has had some rust repair completed to front floors, inner and outer rockers and quarter, but needs some more. I'm offering it up at a reasonable price for its rarity and limited availability as a project. This was the 17 th Nomad off the line in Atlanta, originally black/ivory with charcoal/ivory interior, V8 auto car.
It comes with a ton of parts, which I can email you a four page list of along with more pictures and info. If you are serious you know what you are looking at, this is a big project but it hides no surprises. Some of the highlights are: original motor (cracked block) but comes with correct casting/date 265 that has been remachined. Original heads, 4bbl intake and carb. Choose from a 3 speed OD manual or powerglide. I picked the best fenders I have to put on, mint hood and front apron, mint grille with extras, all exterior trim, all interior trim a lot which was redone, And installed an almost perfect tailgate and hatch. Comes with original seats that need reupholstered but they are there, new windshield, most glass, all window mouldings, tons of extra parts. Lots of NOS stuff including brand new original tailgate chrome strips and handle, headliner trim, emblems etc. Rebuilt treddle vac booster/master, rare power steering parts with generator brackets for pump. Extra doors, tailgates, and fenders are available but likely not worth shipping. Tons of original engine parts, And on and on. Four pages of parts lists, three decades of swap meet collecting. A huge head start for someone.
Restore this car to its original glory as an investment, or build a custom Nomad without feeling guilty about cutting up a mint one! It's an American icon car, and they are hard to find as a project. She's worth it! Contact us by email, text or call for more details. tscarfe@mts.net or 204-803-6837. We encourage your calls and if you want we can setup a FaceTime appointment to show you more. I have not posted pictures of the engines, they are wrapped up currently on pallets. There are four Rubbermaid bins that contain engine parts, dash parts, and misc body parts that are not shown here. We did not unwrap all the good trim or interior parts, but they are there in a box with a brand new windshield. Please ask for pictures of anything specific.
