Selling a great 1974 Chevelle Malibu project car!.BUY IT NOW!!!!!$2995!!. Yes,I own it and NO,Im not a dealer!
Car started life as a 2 door Chevelle Malibu with a 350,automatic. Now has had many changes over the years. I bought it for the parts but its way too good to tear apart. These cars are getting hard to find and this one is pretty solid for 44 years old,especially up here!
I don't know a whole lot of history on the car besides what the last owner told me. Car had a motor rebuilt at some point. I don't know what is in it but it has a mild cam from the sounds,Edelbrock Torker 2 intake and 750 Holley carb along with headers. It runs but has been sitting the last few years and will need a header gasket on the drivers side (leaks, a tune up and fresh gas at minimum. Has great oil pressure and no noises or smoke. The serial number on the back of the block is 3070010,there is no code on the front tab,I do not know why. Previous owner said it was rebuilt with very few miles on it when he bought it and was told it is around 400 horse....who knows for sure? Did you notice that huge 4 core aluminum radiator??!!!
The 4 speed conversion was done a few years ago. It has a Muncie M21 case with all M22 Rock Crusher internals. Also has a new clutch and new Hurst competition plus shifter.....not a cheap job for sure. Numbers on trans case are3857584GM, 3925660 and 3088336. Previous owner said that the whole conversion maybe has 20 miles on it, he put the car away right after and never went any further with it.
The body is real solid for the year,the doors need some work and a few imperfections around the sunroof. Besides tha, normal dents,dings for the age. The trunk floor and frame are real nice and so is the rest of the body. Floor boards are all nice except the drivers floor at the toe area where water must have laid at some point. It will need some work there and around the 4 speed floor hump area where the finish work isn't completed. GREAT PROJECT!! Interior is black and somebody installed era correct swivel buckets. They work but are driver quality....They need a few bolts installed. After market electric dash too. Gauges all seem to work except temp. I think its a ground. Mileage reads 00004 so it will be sold 100,004. Has American Racing wheels with half dry rotted tires. I am unsure of rear gears,it has a factory rear sway bar that I see but that's all I know.
Basically,the car runs and yard drives. I drove it down the road but it really needs a tune up and was a challenge. All gears shift great and trans works like new. Speedo and lights worked. I have told what I know,this is a great project car or parts piece then sell the body!
