1949 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible

I am putting my 1949 Styleline Deluxe Convertible up for sale. In 1949, Chevrolets got the first new styling after the war and the Styleline Deluxe Convertible remains one of the most coveted body styles. I bought the car in Denver in 1969 from the original owner who was older and could no longer drive. It had been parked outside for a long time so the top and upholstery were bad and it had been stolen with minor damage being done to the right rear fender before recovery.I have housed the car in a garage since I started restoration in 1995. I restore cars as a hobby, but I had the final body work, paint, upholstery and top done in professional custom shops. I am selling to make room for new projects.

By looking at the pictures you will be able to see the condition of the car. I drive the car a couple of times a year on cruises or to go to car shows, going up to 50 miles at 65 mph highway speeds with no problem. The Stayfast Blue/Tan convertible top has the factory electric hydraulic pump which works fine. I added an electric fuel pump which totally ended any starting delay, even after sitting all winter. I lined the gas tank with US Standard fuel tank sealer in about 1995, but the fuel filter plugged with rust last year which may have come from the fuel lines, so replaced the filter. There was very little body rust, with the worst being the driver's floor pan requiring a fiberglass cap to stabilize the metal.I had the front and rear bumpers re-chromed. I removed all of the trim, which is stainless steel and removed dents, then polished them. After I got the car back from the paint shop, I found it real hard to snap the strips of stainless back on, in the process I put my full weight real hard on the right rear fender causing it to flex and crack the paint as you can see in the close-up picture. The paint cracks from putting the trim on have been stable and would not be visible unless in a close-up in the right light, but the paint would not be considered perfect. Both door spears were beyond repair, replaced with longer spears from a year newer, then shortened them to the correct length. The fender skirts (Unpainted skirts & boxes of spare parts) are included and are in the trunk. The right rear fender repair lost the mounting capability, so I never messed with them. The tires, weather stripping, front window edge & assorted rubber were new in 1995. The picture of the front window shows the top corner crack, they are sand pitted & scratched from ice scraper. All of the instruments and the radio work with the exception of the clock. All the lights work, everything is original 6 volt electrical system. That is everything I can think of. It is a solid original car that we matched to the original paint color and upgraded to custom upholstery.

If you have any questions, feel free to call Chuck at 308-430-0759. I am setting the reserve reasonably low considering the good condition and rarity of this convertible model, intending for it to sell. Happy bidding!
